Memory Master is one of Luigi's minigames in Super Mario 64 DS. It is a harder variation of Memory Match. In New Super Mario Bros., the minigame itself was integrated into Memory Match, where after five Stars are earned, the minigame becomes identical to Memory Master.

Gameplay[]

Memory Master is essentially a Mario-themed game of concentration. The rules are the same as in Memory Match: the player must match the correct pairs of cards to clear the challenge and gain a Star. However, the number of cards are 16 cards, exactly double of the eight card in Memory Match. Several coins are required to continue playing, as the player bets five coins aside three. Whenever Luigi deals the cards, four of them flip, giving the player a clue to find their respective paired card.

Like many of the other minigames, Memory Master increases in difficulty as the minigame progresses. After five Stars, Luigi begins to deal 18 cards, six of which are flipped, then after earning ten Stars Luigi deals 20 cards, eight of which are flipped.

Whenever the player taps two cards that do not a match, they lose a coin from their bet number. Losing all these coins removes one Star gained from the challenge. Once the player has spent all their coins to bet, the minigame ends in a Game Over.
