Fruit Talktail is a 1-vs.-3 Mic mini-game in Mario Party 6.

Gameplay[]

The object for the solo character is to try and get the team of three to fall off the platforms, therefore eliminating them. As such, the three team members have to try and stay on the platforms without falling off. The solo character utilizes the Mic, in which they can say the name of a certain fruit, but if the Mic option is turned off, the commands are instead selected from a blue box. Once the solo character gives a command, every platform collapses, eliminating whoever is on them, except for those depicting the same fruit said by the solo character. As time passes, the platforms that the characters are standing on fall faster.

If every team member is eliminated, the solo character wins. If at least one teammate is remaining when the 60-second time limit is up, or 72 seconds in PAL releases, they win instead.

Flavor text[]

• Rules: One player says the name of a fruit. The other players have to scramble to the corresponding space before the other spaces fall!
• Advice 1: Over time, the spaces players are standing on will fall faster and faster! Stay light on your feet!
• Advice 2: After you've spoken a command, wait until the spaces reappear before you call out the name of another fruit.

Trivia[]

• The minigame's name is a pun on the name of the dessert fruit cocktail.
• Fruit Talktail is similar to a 1-vs.-3 version of the classic Mario Party minigame Mushroom Mix-Up and its Mario Party 2 counterpart, Hexagon Heat.
