Bubba is a character appearing as one of the selectable protagonists in Grand Theft Auto.
History[]
Background[]
For an overview on the GTA Protagonist's entire history and plot details, see here.
As the game follows one storyline, if Bubba is chosen as the protagonist, he will follow the same story as the other selectable protagonists, including committing the same crimes and murders, and having the same relationships with the Vercotti Crime Family, Uncle Fu's Crime Syndicate, El Burro, Samuel Deever and Brother Marcus.
Character[]
Appearance[]
Bubba is an obese, tough looking character with a cigar in his mouth. He is likely full Latino, or possibly Cuban.
The only difference between Bubba and the other protagonists is the in-game appearance (clothes, hair and skin).
Like the other protagonists, Bubba's default name can be changed by the player on the character selection menu. This feature is also used to activate cheat codes in the game.
In the Japanese edition of Grand Theft Auto, Bubba is one of the four available protagonists, along with Ulrika (kept from the original version) and two exclusive protagonists: Jack and Bison. All four protagonists available in this edition share the same female character sprite as Ulrika in-game (blond hair, a yellow shirt, bright red pants, and orange shoes).

Trivia[]
- According to the January 2001 exclusive Grand Theft Auto III world premiere found in PlayStation 2 Official Magazine (UK) Issue 3, Dan Houser had plans to bring back popular characters from the original 2D Universe games such as Bubba, Brother Marcus, some of the characters from Grand Theft Auto: London, and gangs from Grand Theft Auto 2 to the 3D Universe.
- While none of these characters returned, El Burro's character was entirely rewritten for the series' new universe continuity.
