I've been kidnapped by vampires and Sawyer is under some love spell.
Now I’ve got to traipse through the entire Magic Lands without getting killed to make it back to Werewolf City… hopefully in one piece.
Everything would have worked out as planned if Sawyer hadn’t gone on another revenge killing spree in my honor. Now the entire magical world is at war, and my True Mate and I are stuck in the middle of it.

💎💎The coolest thing about this book was the bejewelled sneakers. 💎💎
I have been so excited about this book. Did I love the first? No. But it still had the power to draw me in. (I even pre-ordered, and this girl rarely does that!) And I wanted to know what happened so badly, because the first cliffhanger lay the grounds to some heavy drama and hurt. And that’s my late night snack. Which were completely and utterly ignored. I feel cheated😭
Stone does not lack imagination and yet I can’t put my finger on the exact “issue” I have with how the story went, or how the world building is. Something just seems “off”. Maybe I get to little info? Maybe I am just not buying it? Maybe I just need things better explained?🤔
Not to mention I just can’t with these characters. I can’t get my head around Sawyer being such a good alpha when he runs head first into things and starts killing. I actually will go so far to find him whiny. I don’t see him “being in control” or “being strategic”, or even being “alpha”. I just see him lash out and scream at Demi to forgive him. Like what? And Demi? Why wasn’t she FURIOUS! Oh no, she was busy passing out all book, that’s right. Ok, that was low. Sorry. 😫 But didn’t she just pass out so much? I got super annoyed by it. Yes, yes, she was hurt a lot, but why keep ending scenes that way. It seems is little “easy”. Okay, I just found out what my issue with it was. It was repetitive. That’s right, I nailed it. Boom.
Another big trigger for me was how their bond could keep being repressed, BY OTHERS. Will someone explain to me how this works? Does the bond only work when there is wifi? I seriously want to know?😱 Oh, and if the wolves in Wolf City were so powerful and respected why do they keep being surprise attacked? I have so many questions😭
Why did she go “back to school”, when a WAR was brewing? Why? Just why?😫😫😫
Maybe I had way too high hopes for this book. I wanted to be wowed. I wanted to love this story so much, but I didn’t.
Read: 26/02/2021 1st rating: 2 stars Genre/tropes: Paranormal/wolves/vampires/trolls/magic/academy Cover: 3 stars POV’s: Single -1st person (Demi) Will I recommend: No😒
I barely know what I just read tbh. It's pretty rare that I'm speechless after I read a book, but there's something about this one that was so off I just...
Can't really find the words. The romance was cringey, Sawyer was being insane, and I can't explain why the plot didn't work, I just know that it didn't. I don't feel good after reading this. Yeah it feels bad.
Why have 22 people rated a book that isn't out yet??!
UPDATE- So the book released today and it was pretty good. A lot more action and a lot more suspense. To be honest, I was siding with Sawyer way too soon! Hahaha..I mean sure I hated him after the incidents of book one. But it was all a fucking misunderstanding..and I was ready for their relationship to progress. I just hate that it took more than half of the book for them to be reunited..like please Leia Stone..I wanted to read more!!
Mini spoiler- It felt kinda selfish of Demi to want to ask the Palladins' help especially after everything that happened with them and her. Like she was all okay to want to go and ask their help after all the drama with Arrow and the other young girl. But then I get her crisis as well..wanting to stay with Sawyer and her family instead of taking up another role...
What happened to the amazing sequel I was expecting?
I loved book 1, even wrote a review with gifs and everything . This just isn’t even in the same league. Did I read book 1 while I was drunk and had my rose tinted glasses on? No I think my fond memories of Werewolf Bachelor were correct.
This just had none of the charm I fell for. I didn’t even like sawyer here. He wasn’t cute or romantic, he was an asshole and a bigot that took being protective into the unattractive zone .
The only thing this has going for it is Demi’s trip around the world of supernatural. Which seemed like a pretty small world. It does the world building a disservice when you can ride a donkey from one side to the other in two days. They are all supposed to exist beside one another but yet one side has modern day technology and the other is in the Stone Age? All this is in the distance between my house and the next town over?
Somethings not right with this map.
It was a whirlwind tour that took her around the land of oz meeting/fighting the various other supernaturals to get back to Sawyer in Wolf City. Once that happened it went even more downhill, Sawyers just not doing it for me anymore. Can we switch love interests to Arrow please??
Just a suggestion for book 3... that and don’t let Demi back into Wolf City.
I had to read a few reviews to finally get to the bottom of what felt so off about this book. I think it's between the repetitive things that kept happening (e.g. the heroine fainting, her getting hurt repeatedly and not being able to help herself, other people kidnapping her and her being helpless throughout it due to other circumstances) and Sawyer wanting to come off as an Alpha, but what he really gave off was whiny lil' bee with an itch. I also disliked how he was so possessive of Demi that it bordered on being scary and unhealthy. During the first book, I wasn't his biggest fan and after almost 6 hours of this book, I dislike him even more. I also wished Demi was less blinded by love and more angry due to what he put her through with the ending of the first book. I just can't respect both of them after that. The overall story just isn't enough to keep me interested in this series this time around.
Mixed feelings on the second book, but it's a good sequel
So you know how in a trilogy (I'm assuming this is a trilogy) you have the first book, which starts the story, and the last book, which ends the story. This is why I am always so happy to find a good 2nd book, because essentially it's that part of the story that's in the middle, left with the task of developing the story well for the third book without making us lose interest.
This book hit some of that, but not all.
What I liked: ➼ The story is still interesting. I like the politics and the tension being introduced between the different supernatural races now. ➼ Demi's heritage, being with the Paladins, is soooooo cool! When I read about their tribe my heart broke for them and I'm so excited to see what happens next.
Things that irked me: ➼ the romance is a bit too predictable. And a bit eh (that's the best I can do) ➼ Sawyer is getting on my nervessssss. I love the shifter guy but seriously he's being a bit too much, especially with the whole Paladin thing. I think he just needs to RELAX.
I liked the first book better. But this one was a solid 3 star rating, meaning that it was an okay book. First part of the book was about Demi getting kidnapped and being hostage of the vampires and how she escapes. The second part was when she was back in wolf city and reunited with Sawyer. There were random interesting characters popping up, who are helping Demi and then their time is up. I am referring to Marmal the Troll lady, Arrow and Aster. The later we will see in the next book - at least thats what I think. I would have liked to see more interesting characters and more storyline about Demi and Sawyer.
Detailed summery of the whole book, heavy spoilers ahead!!!
the summary TO SAWYER, DEMI IS IN TROUBLE, SO SNAP OUT OF WHATEVER LOVELY DAYDREAM YOU ARE HAVING ABOUT MEREDITH AND RESCUE YOUR GIRL. the rating 5/5 Like this review for a mention :p Find me on: Instagram: @chevreads Wattpad: @writerthursday Pinterest: @thursdayfrappe Youtube: @chevreads P.S. Add me as a friend :) I like to read romance novels and mystery stories
I'm sorry but... what happened? I mean, I enjoyed the first book a lot. I found it easy to read, addicting and I wanted more of the romance. However, this sequel just bored me. I always wanted to skip ahead or even dnf it for some reason. And even the romance didn't interest me anymore, the scenes where they both had interactions well it just didn't work out for me. The plot also wasn't the most interesting since she basically had to travel a bunch to get back home safe. Ugh. I don't think I'm going to keep reading the rest of the series.
The first book held my interest from start to finish and I was soooo excited about the second one.. But now? I could not even finish the first chapter, the dialoges and answers back and forth honesly gave me a headache.
Who's ready for round two, in Lost Girl? This story just got better. I'm rating it a 4.8 ⭐️ but I'll just mark it as 5 since rounding up and all that haha. But oh boy, how seriously unaware and unprepared I was for this book. I loved it so much more than Wolf Girl. The intensity level spikes a fair amount in this one, which I really loved...and downtime? What even is that? It's an unknown term in this book lol...If it's not one thing, it's most definitely something else. And then this ↓ equals me.
Ignoring my flair for the dramatics, when it comes to reading, this was a read I seriously enjoyed. It had me sucked in instantly, and with things forever happening, I was engaged from beginning to end. This book was gobbled up within a day and I can't wait for you guys to read it too! Now I just need the next book so I can finally have all my answers...because with how it ended, dang do I need them badly.
I saw the ending coming but man, did it tear at my fragile little heart. Like my heart was legit breaking at the emotions I was feeling, from both parties in this ending scene. It was such an epically, perfect and torturous way to end it. So, if I had to pick one thing that I loved the most about this book, it would definitely be Leia's ability to make us feel whatever she wants us to. Whatever she writes controls all our emotions.
But I'm currently sitting over here unsure of what to write. Let's just say its been a crazy couple of days...and my sleep-deprived and congested brain just aren't coming up with anything that spectacular, to portray my particular enjoyment level for this book. I've got all the snacks I could dream of and coffee (with possibly a splash of Kahlua 😉😆), but my brain is just being all
And yep every one of those gifs are necessary. It sums me up perfectly to a T. 😂 Stupid chronic illness brain.
But I seriously did love a lot about this story. As I mentioned earlier this book, for me, definitely surpassed Wolf Girl. I just loved how busy it was and how crazy it got. I couldn't put it down. I had to know as much as I could, as soon as I could. And can I just say, I was pretty spot on with things. Man, I love being right.
Another thing I really loved, was the development of characters relationships and individually. As you guys know, I really love to see character developments and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest here. Also, the relationships were spot on and didn't at all feel like they were being pushed too quickly, to get to a certain point. They just felt right for me.
I can't wait for you guys to meet some of the new characters that were introduced in this story, I loved them so much...and can't wait to see more of them in the following book. Marmal anyone?! I love that chick so hard. Also a special little wolf girl...my heart. She was something else...but you'll just have to read to find out more about these characters for yourself hehe 😉. But Leia, I will from now on be using Murderous snakebite as a new phrase for my strong displeasure lol. 😂 I'm totally in agreeance with Arrow lol. This phrase definitely sounds more venomous hehe...did you see what I did there? 😂
Okay, moving on. What can I say without spilling too much? I'm going by the book blurb on this one, to help guide me lol. But we know that Demi has been kidnapped by the Vampires...because why not? Everyone seriously wants a piece of Demi in this book. And I mean everyone! Her power is wanted and the Vampires plan to use it so they can be the strongest and most powerful. Coz why the hell not?
Even with Sawyer under a love spell, he's still determined to get Demi back...lucky though that he has Sage around to put things right. See? Girl power for the win. But being free of the spell sets Sawyer off on another "hunting" trip. And well, that goes badly. Landing Sawyer in a pretty big mess...and maybe just created an all-out war, trying to defend Demi's honour, between the magical worlds in the process. Because what we needed were more problems aye?
And that leaves Demi needing to trek through all the magical lands, just to get back to Werewolf City. You'd think that was hard enough, but now Demi has a target on her head...and there will be nothing easy about the journey up ahead. Good thing our girl has a strong desire to survive and the determination to get back to those she loves.
So, for all those people out there that wanted Sawyer to do some grovelling and suffer a little...Well, yeah, that definitely does happen. And you're probably going to think real careful, about the next time we wish for this sort of thing lol. Our boy has one hella-stressful journey up ahead himself...and you can't help but love him. My heart definitely went out to him for the distress he was in. But I do admit, that a part of me liked it a little at the beginning haha. Because how can you not love a man like this? He gives his all to Demi in this book and it warmed the cockles of my heart.
“I’m terrified you’ll be my undoing. Because I’ll never deny you anything. I’m at your mercy, Demi Calloway. Be aware of the power you hold over me.”
This story seriously has it all. It's fast-paced, intense, friendships/relationships that'll melt your heart into a puddle, a magical world at war with lots and lots of problems...but in the midst of all that, they have small precious moments that speak right into your heart, that hold the book together in a way. There is so much to love about this book and I honestly can't wait to read more. May can not come soon enough for me. I've just got a desperate need to see where it goes. Coz I'm imagining big things....and massive changes, which I need to see right now lol. I have needs you know haha.
I know, I know. I'm a little bit demanding...but I can't help it. It's not my fault that you write this well lol. So does that mean you are technically to blame Leia lol? I probably shouldn't blame the author though right? She might add me to the story and kill me off haha. 😂 Please don't do that.
Who's ready for the crazy ride ahead? Leia has done a fantastic job of this series and I'm so happy to be apart of her ARC team to spread the word of such a moving book. Please know that this is my honest opinion of this book....and I can't wait for you guys to read it. So be prepared for its release on the 26th of February...you can pre-order Lost Girl on Amazon, so don't forget to get it! It's a book to look out for. Not long to wait now.
Annnd...don't forget to let me know your thoughts in the comments below. I love hearing from you guys.
Well, I hope you're all doing okay and hanging in there. I'm about ready for sleep lol. This ramble took me forever to write...and by that, I mean making sure I made some semblance of sense lol.
So with that, I'm gonna say adiós amigos. I am done with this day...and who knows where this will lead if I keep talking lol.
Pretty weak showing here. An exciting first half, followed by a lackluster second, and shitty love interest. Hudson sucks. Oh and Demi refusing to help her people until she needed something from them sucked even more.
1. This one was too short. Like wayyyyyy too short. I finished it in like 3 hours, it was zero to sixty and didn't really have any "meat" to it.
2. Demi and Sawyer left me unsatisfied. They spent majority of the book apart and when they got back together it was just meh. Sawyer was so insecure and slightly whiny that he became unattractive. I expected more drama from the ending of the last book but it's pretty much resolved and forgiven in the first chapter.
3. Demi was a selfish twat. She learns she is the alpha of the Paladins, their last hope before their magic is gone forever, and yet she refuses to help them. I understand her just wanting to go back to her life with Sawyer but home girl has a bigger destiny and her denying it is literally killing thousands of people. Her grandfather gave his life to help her, Arrow and Aster were kind and helped her, she could've at least offered to visit these people. But nope, she pretty much throws some bags of rice and blankets their way and tells them to leave her alone. BUT THEN this twat has the AUDACITY to ask these sick and dying people she turned her back on for help to fight the city wolves war? Nah sis, I hope they turn your ass away in the next book.
I can say Demi was strong in this one and was put through the ringer trying to make it back home. I love a strong heroine and Demi didn't disappoint in this department. I liked seeing her use her power, I hope she eventually becomes a force to be reckoned with.
Overall this one just didn't hit the spot, I was left wanting more and my interest in Demi and Sawyer has just about completely fizzled away. I'll be reading book 3 though just because I need to see this story out; hopefully it doesn't disappoint as much as this one did
I grew up in the Wattpad generation, that means i was once obsessed with vampire and werewolves stories. I think i read all the popular ones. This book feels like a Wattpad story that’s losing its edge. Book 2 follows Demi after she was kidnapped all the way to the war. My problem is that it doesn’t feel original and the writing isn’t all that good. Sawyer and Demi went from being cute to irritating as a true mates. I’m not sure if ill read the final book because this one hasn’t impressed me.
Lost Girl hits the ground running with Demi in captivity. Not only are vampires planning to use her for her "essance" (with her being a magical split-shifter, this is apparently something they can do) the MC has to deal with her soul mate being duped into a love spell. Total bummer! Everything seems to be resolved pretty quickly only to be faced with an even tougher obstacle. Actually making it home in one piece.
I really liked Demi in this book. She's funny and tough as nails in a believable way. However... I did not get over Sawyer's treatment of her as easily as she did it seems. I'm still pretty sketched over how easily he gave in to a stupid love spell and how easily he was duped... Especially while he's "imprinted" on his supposed true mate. I got that it wasn't his fault, but with how things ended in this book, I suppose the real test is going to be in the next book! I feel like we're in for a rough ride in the next one.
Welp, I read through that super fast. I gave the first book 4 stars, I bumped this one up to 5. I don't know, the plot was just interesting and I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next one, I'm hooked. My only complaint is the minor grammar issues: object vs subject (I vs me). It's a grammar pet peeve of mine. SO MANY AUTHORS get this wrong and it's like nails running down a chalkboard. I had an English teacher that made us correct grammar sentences everyday in class, I'm realizing what an amazing teacher she was. One day, I'll read a book where the author uses "I vs. me" correctly and I'll weep from joy.
It's just another Monday … AND I AM SO EXCITED THAT IT'S ONLY A MONTH AWAY!
Review
It's not that I didn't like it; I just didn't love it as mush as I had hoped. I loved the first book so much that I vehemently wanted to love this book but it didn't hold the same essence.
I enjoyed that we finally get to see Demi's journey in discovering her roots and the various people that she was able to meet separate from Sawyer. This allowed me to connect with the character more and gain a stronger voice for Demi. Leia did a wonderful job of writing the action scenes and had me hyping the squad to kick their asses!
There was little character development for Sawyer. Frankly, he became quite flat where he was often grovelling, begging and being irrational. Even Walsh had more character development than our Alpha.
I love this series so much. There’s so much action it really keeps entertained and on your toes. Definitely gives you a whirlwind of emotions from beginning to end. I can’t wait until the third book is released.
Sooo I kinda expected a bit more out of this book.. Don't hate me cause I love love love leia stone. But somehow it felt like Sawyer got redeemed to quickly... and I felt like he was only saying NOOO and I LOVE YOU in this book... there is not a lot of character development for him in my opinion 🙈 I liked the side characters more than him and I kinda hope Demi ends up with Arrow.
There are a couple of new people introduced in this book and they are quite interesting! I love to read more about the paladins and see where that road takes Demi! Also the places Demi travels just to get back to Sawyer shows a lot of different creatures which I would have loved to get more into!
So to sum it up it was okay and I did enjoy reading it but I think I just wanted more depth into this story and a more interesting Sawyer... fingers crossed we get to read more about Arrow in the next book!
3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 Stars! Paranormal romance. This was an ok read. I’m on a paranormal binge. Haven’t read this genre in awhile, I forgot how much I loved it!
This book picks up immediately after the events of book #1. Demi has been captured by vampires right after being betrayed when Sawyer picks Meredith to be his wife, due to a love potion necklace that scrambled his brain for a second. The vampires take Demi to their lands and try to take her "essence" - which is still confusing and I don't remember enough from the last book to know what that exactly means. Demi escapes, is saved by a troll/taken into the trolls lands, and then has to make her way back to Sawyer. She runs into Sage and Walsh, saves a Paladin wolf (who saves Walsh's life after a fight and somehow claims Demi as her alpha), and then makes it back to Wolf City.
By the time all of that happened I was ~60% of the way through this book... Which to me is way too long. Nothing particularly exciting happens and honestly it was a bit boring. I like that we learn more about Demi's connection with the Paladin wolves, but that could have been fleshed out with like 75 less pages.
As for Sawyer - I am not a fan. I get that he's an alpha wolf and Demi was taken away - but he is constantly trying to smother Demi after that. He personality swings between acting like a petulant child who lost his favorite toy to raging mad. I am actually bummed that Demi is linked to him because he's doesn't seem right for her and he isn't particularly interesting. He says things like no one will ever take her from him again (but in a weird way that's not sweet IMO) and won't be transparent with her about the war they are on the brink of - although he does get a bit more transparent at the very end. Sawyer doesn't seem to listen to her and while he provides her with a lot and is obsessed with her - he doesn't seem to actually understand her as a person. Idk it's hard to put my finger on but it's a really odd dynamic between the two of them that makes it hard to see them as linked/fated for one another.
It's a little confusing if this is just a YA novel with high schoolers or about college age students/young adults. There is a good deal of cussing and a couple not-at-all steamy sex scenes, but then all the characters seem to act very immature and childish. I think this book is stuck trying to be both and it doesn't work.
I enjoyed the first book in this series so I am quite disappointed with this addition. I'm unsure if I will read the next book. Mainly because all the current storylines are resolved. We know why Demi is the way she is, we know she is the Paladin alpha, and obviously the war will be won against the vampires and witches. It's also a given that she will end up with Sawyer, even though I almost hope she ends up with Arrow. What else is there to discover since the remainder is so predictable?
Looking for adventure?? This book has it ALL. It’s just utterly brilliant, the world Leia stone has created is insane!!! The detail and world building is brilliant. I truly felt like I was on this journey with Demi from page one. It’s absolutely jam packed with action and sure as hell keeps you on your toes!! Lots of twists and turns that you won’t see coming, my heart hurts for reasons I can’t mention..the end of this book putting it frank, shit hits the fan!! 🥺 just when you think they can have a piece of happiness BAM things turn bad, real fast. I’m so hooked on this series I can’t put it into words 😂 I’m fully invested and eagerly anticipating what happens next!!!
“Got a motorcycle or something? It’s like a metal donkey that goes really fast.” 😂😂😂 there is a lot of humour in this book alongside the never ending action!!
Jaymin eve and Leia stone both have that heroine that is basically the strongest thing since undiluted diamonds... any Thing or person that is mentioned that is strong and all powerful a few chapters later... we discover that its actually the heroine but she never knew it.......
I need to be in the right mood for these type of reads.....
