But Hound has a secret. He fell in love with a woman years ago. She’s untouchable. Unattainable. And even when her status changes, for Hound, it remains the same.

Keely Black had it all early and lost it all not long after. Thrown into an abyss of loss and grief, she’s faced a life of raising two sons alone and battling the rage at all that had been ripped from them.

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

I'm a huge Kristen Ashley fan, and her Chaos series is probably my favorite of all her series. Walk Through Fire is one of my most favorite books (and one of my most re-read books) ever, so I was desperate for this story. It didn't disappoint one bit. It was beautiful, gave me all the feels, and made my heart burst with happiness. I loved it so much!

Hound and Keely Black. The forbidden couple of Chaos. Keely Black was Black's old lady, and even though Black has been gone for almost two decades, she's forbidden to move on with a brother of Chaos. That doesn't change the fact that Hound has been in love with Keely for the entirety of that time and has been there for her and been a father figure for her boys. But nothing could ever come of it. They both know that.

Keely has spent the last 17 years of her life a widow. She's finally ready to move on. She doesn't want to waste any more time being alone. And there is only one man she wants to move forward with.

I loved Keely and Hound so so much! They were both amazing characters. Hound was the absolute best. The relationship he had with Keely's boys made my heart so happy. They never really got to know their father, but Hound made sure they always had a Dad in him. Even when he thought there was zero hope of he and Keely being together he was always there for those boys.

Also, his relationship with his neighbor *sobs* I could not love him more. He was a fantastic guy and he quickly yet  unexpectedly has made his way to the top of my favorite KA heroes. I also loved Keely and her strength. Strong heroines are always my favorite. Even though their back and forth stressed me out at times, I loved the fight they both had in them.
“Tack was wrong.” Boz said.
“About what?” Hound asked.
“Black wasn’t the best of us.” Hound stood silent, now feeling his throat itch. “You are,” Boz finished.
Wild Like the Wind is a perfect addition to the Chaos series. I couldn't have loved it more. It was everything I wanted it to be. The next (and final) book in the series is one I've been looking forward to for YEARS and I can't wait! I don't want the Chaos series to end!!

My love for this bunch of people started with Motorcycle Man, the last of Kristen Ashley's Dream Man. I fell in love with every single one of these unconventional heroes so it comes as no surprise that Hound is the newest addition to my favorite book-boyfriends (although he probably wouldn't like this title at all).

If you have followed this series you know that Keely Black is the widow of one of the Chaos members. Eighteen years ago the betrayal of their old president took him away from her and her sons. You also know that Hound has been carrying a torch for Keely. I have always been wondering why nothing ever came of it. Finally we get all the answers.

Hound's love for Keely, her sons and his brothers knows no bounds. He is an all around good man, loyal, level-headed - mostly, and - be still my heart - he cooks and cleans and takes the trash out! What made me fall in love with him though was something nobody, not even his brothers knew about him. While he is the badass biker at the Compound, he takes care of his elderly neighbor in bis apartment building. The devotion and love he had for Jean was so incredibly touching and sweet that I was blinking tears away. They had such a beautiful relationship and the way he cared for his Jean-Bug, always with a mind to her dignity, it was simply moving. Hound is the born nurturer, he always took care of what he considered his and that included Keely and her sons. It cut deep that she seemingly didn't return his feelings.
“I couldn’t find it in me to burn bright without you. You were gone, I was so empty. I gave everything I had to our boys and it felt like there was nothing left.” We’re…gonna…tear this life up.
“I gotta burn bright, honey,” I said softly. “I gotta start tearing this life up.”

Keely is the Old Lady out of the book, but she wasn't one for long and has never been able to move on from her old man's vicious murder. So when she turns up at his door one day, Hound watches her not with a small amount of surprise undress in his apartment.

Since the first 45% are written in Hound's POV we don't know what kind of play Keely is making. It becomes clear when the POV switches to her so hang in there!

Keely is a strong woman, and it's never more clear when Hound delivers a major fuck-up. Her backbone is made of steel and I was so glad she didn't give in but made him fight for her. She was magnificent in her anger. I had to dig deep to forgive Hound but then I thought about his love for his neighbor so I moved on.

Heads up, the first 35% contain a lot of sex. While I thought it was a little bit too much it helped to get a feel for the kind of relationship Keely and Hound had. I could definitely have done with a little less bed action and more story. With all that being said though, KA delivers one of her dirtiest heroes with Hound so far. Jesus, they were hot and went at each other like bunnies.
I want wild. I want fire. With you, I’m Keely. You take me hard. You ride me rough. I’m not a mom. I’m not the attendance officer at the high school that the kids alternately think is the shit, because I am, or think I’m a pain in their ass because if they miss school, I am. I’m a woman. All woman. The woman who likes to get fucked however you wanna fuck me.”

We get an update on where Chaos is headed and how things are going now that their enemy has disappeared. After the cliffy in the epilogue of Rough Ride I was expecting much more action but I think Ms Ashley saves the biggest climax (no pun intended) for Rush's book (who I absolutely adored in Wild Like the Wind - his part towards the end is one of my favorite things in this book).

While this installment doesn't have as much action and heartbreak as the former ones, which is surprising because I expected much more with Keely and Hound's background story, it is a fabulous, intense and beautiful addition to the Chaos series. I loved Keely and Hound's connection, her sons and I was happy to see lot of the brothers again, especially Tack, Hop and High (who was in the doghouse for a short period of time).

This installment was everything I hoped for. We get a lot of answers about how Black and Chaos was betrayed and we are left with a little cliffy that makes me salivate for the next one. Now the wait for Rush's book starts and I'm afraid shit will hit the fan really soon and the relatively peaceful times at Chaos will be over soon. I can't wait to get my hands on it

There is a reason Kristen Ashley is one of my favorite authors. Her words have a way to get under my skin. They are clear and get to the bottom of things without exaggerated flourish. But mostly they are beautiful because they are simple truths.
He’d had her every night but one for two months and he’d known her for twenty years, and he’d never gotten used to her brand of beauty.

I think KA may have been confused when she started writing this one. I think she got mixed up with her Honey Series going by the sex scenes I was having to read. All I can say is, I'm no prude but the sex scenes and the dialogue during sex were just seedy and like something from a porn film (at the end of the book we are given a teaser for Rush's book and there is talk of porn films, so maybe she had been watching some porn as research for that book and got carried away?!). Here is an example of the sex dialogue. Keely..'you could fuck me harder, I'd take it. You could eat me dry, I'd take it. You could shoot a wad down my throat that was the equivalent of a large milkshake, I'd fuckin' love it'.

Keely Black has spent 17 years grieving her husband Black, one of the Chaos Brothers. During this time, Tack and the other brothers have always looked after her. Hound in particular has been there a lot for Keely and her two sons. At the beginning of the story, we span the 17 years since Black died and see how Hound was there for her and the boys. Hound had been in love with Keely for years. In fact he fell for her when he was 18 and saw her getting fucked by her husband and seeing her come!

In present day, Keely is 43 and Hound is 39. The beginning of the story is told from Hound's POV. After Keely said something to upset him, he stopped taking her Chaos cheque to her once a month. He hasn't seen her in two months when she turns up at his grotty apartment in a run down part of town and more or less jumps him and demands he fuck her. I found it hard to like Keely. She talked like a man "Mama don't take out no trash or mow no fucking lawn". She also called herself 'Mama' while they were having sex eg. 'Mama's mouth is tired'..'mama's gonna take care of you this time', 'Mama wear you out?'. Then she says she wants him to take her up her ass and that she wants his 'cum down my throat, up my cunt and in my ass'. The sexual dialogue is not in the least bit romantic! 'You want it fast, don't swallow a huge load before you ride me'. Not only that, she knows how brothers live yet she demands he not use a condom as she's on the pill but lucky for her, Hound is not so stupid and insists on wearing one until he gets tested.

Hound knows he can't have Keely. She's his 'brothers' old lady and the other brothers would not allow it so he decides they will be fuck buddies. Fuck buddies? They were at it like rabbits. The first 25% is just constant seedy sex scene after seedy sex scene.

Hound has a secret...he looks after an 89 year old Jewish lady who lives next door to him, her name is Jean. I'm not sure where KA was going with this plot but I found it odd that this big biker dude helps Jean in the shower, lays in her bed with her watching TV while she falls asleep with her head on his shoulder? I'm not sure either why Hound didn't just pay for someone to come in and look after Jean and why he felt the need to do it all himself plus keep her a secret?

So Hound's real name is Shepherd Ironside and at first Keely calls him Cowboy (?) then she starts to call him Shep and he starts to call her KeeKee. They start seeing each other constantly although always at his crappy apartment which KeeKee then helps him furnish and spruce up. One morning KeeKee is suspicious of why he doesn't watch her car drive away but instead he runs back into his apartment so she follows him thinking he has another woman (not sure how he would manage that with the amount of sex they were having!) and discovers his secret..Jean!

Shep is not much of an alpha male. He thinks Keely is still in love with Black and he thinks she's just using him. After something she does in bed, it confirms it to him so he decides to end it later the next day but in the meantime, he gets some bad news. At this point the POV changes to Keely's and we go back two months to her talking to her husband's grave telling him she is ready to move on and that she loves Hound. Then back to present day and Keely comes to his apartment as they agreed to talk later. She finds an angry Hound, he tells her to get out quite a few times but she stands her ground so then he gets up and he physically slams Keely into the wall by pushing a hand into her chest and slams her so hard against the wall her skull cracked against it. He then puts his fist in her hair and uses it to jerk her head back then shouts in her face and grabs her hair to pull her head back. This did not endear me to Shep and I did not like what I was reading.

From then on the story continues in Keely's POV and then her character just changed into every other KA heroine. She stopped saying 'Mama', they stopped having so much seedy sex. She's cooking and baking. Everyone fancies her. Everyone loves her blah, blah, blah. She forgives Shep, tells him she's loved him for years. Then the story got very boring as it always does once a KA couple get together around the 50% mark. I got very bored after this. Also, Shep wants a kid and so Keely agrees and thinks nothing of the fact she's 43. Keely's boys are happy they're finally together. The only problem is still the 'brothers' but they decide they will tell them but they get found out sooner and then we get most of the brothers agreeing that Hound loves Keely so they will forget their code of honour (oh by the way, nobody knows about him throwing her against the wall as she forgave him due to him being upset about Jean!). Also Tyra and all the other ladies turn up to interfere (yawn). Then Elvira turns up (I have never taken to her) and then we get mention of Knight, Lee Nightingale, Hawk, Lawson etc. The 'baddies' were boring me and I was getting lost in what was happening on that side and yes, I started to skim as it was just the usual 'girl posse', 'amazing heroine' blah, blah.

I did notice that we didn't get as many descriptions of everything and Hound never once mentioned Keely was 'cute'. Although that's probably because she talks like one of his brothers and has a crude mouth! I also didn't find any of it romantic and just couldn't get on board with them as a couple in love.

At the end of the book, KA tells us the final book about Rush will be Free. I read the sample but it didn't excite me.

I continue to read KA's book but I'm obviously a glutton for punishment as they are nothing like her early books but in this book, I cringed the whole way though the first seedy 25% and actually wondered if KA had finally lost the plot?!

For me to enjoy a book I need to like it at the very least, it needs to keep my interest and I also need to be able to connect with the characters, and connect I did not.

So I guess I didn't like it much, given that I was bored a lot of the time with nothing much happening, and I'm not a Keely fan. I don't know if it's because the first half of the book is in Hound's POV so by the time she got her POV I had already made up my mind that she was not a character I could have much interest in *shrugs*.

Then we get to the constant sex, and I mean constant. Sheesh her lady parts must have been on FIRE from friction burn. 🔥🔥🔥 Yeoooowch. I guess if you have your characters wearing themselves out banging their brains out you don't need much story, and that's exactly what happened here until almost the end, when there was a little blip of excitement with the whole Valenzuela thing ..... but just a little blip mind, nothing to get excited about. 🙄

What I didn't like -
Waaay to much nasty sex and little to no story - the sex scenes were cringy and not in the least bit erotic.
Tyra and the old ladies running the show, these blokes have become such a bunch of wets it's unreal!
Keely and her badass biker bitch vibe. Seriously? She wasn't in the club for 18 years??
Tyra
Hound putting his hands on Keely - just NO!! He lost any and all respect after doing that.
And Tyra bears mentioning again, that woman works my last nerve.

What I liked:
Tad (swoon!!!)
Bev
Dutch and Jagger

So once again one of KA's newer books missed the mark by a million miles and I need to go mourn the end of an era because I think I've finally gotten through my thick skull that there will never be another Sweet Dreams or Lady Luck or Wild Man. That said, I'm planning on reading the last book in the Chaos series just to call it done. Crazy I know.

”Life’s a game, Hound. People don’t play it. We’re pawns. It plays us. And every day you don’t know how it’s gonna play you. You could wake up a winner, or you could wake up a loser. But when you’re wild like the wind like we are, you roll with it. Today, I woke up a loser. But I’m gonna end the night a winner.”

It’s time to catch up with all of the beloved characters from the CHAOS MC along with a few from Kristen Ashley’s ”Dream Man” series. I do love a good MC romance and WILD LIKE THE WIND was filled with off the charts STEAM, as well as being one epic love story!

Keely has been a CHAOS widow for over eighteen years. When she lost Black, it was as if her soul died with him. Throughout the years there was one constant in her life—Hound. He was always there to take care of her and her two boys, Dutch and Jagger. Whatever they needed Hound provided. What no one seemed to know was that Hound had always been secretly in love with Keely, even before Black’s death, but he kept those feelings locked up tight. It would go against the code of CHAOS to go after another brother’s woman, even if he had passed on. But after eighteen years of mourning, Keely was ready to move on, and she wanted to do that with Hound.

Keely finally realized that she was falling in love with Hound. She saw all that he had been doing for her and her boys and was able to open her heart to him. It would take a little convincing on her part, but eventually, Hound would give in to her advances. They did keep their relationship a secret since it was in violation of Chaos code. Hound also made it clear that nothing serious could develop between them because of his loyalty to Chaos.

There was no way that Hound and Keely would be able to go their separate ways. They were in too deep. But how can they live out their lives happily together when the ghost of Keely’s dead husband still lingers between them, and their union is considered “forbidden” by Chaos?

I have to mention that there was such a tenderness to Hound that I found so surprising but that also made his character the most endearing. His love for his neighbor, who was an eight-five-year-old lady, was beyond heartwarming. He is my favorite badass Chaos alpha!!!

Here are my overall ratings

I am not going to rate this one because I knew going in I wasn't going to like it. The only reason I read it is in preparation for Rush's book. The entire first part of this book read like bad cheesy hardcore porn (KA is just NOT good at writing sex scenes). I hated Keely; she was gross and trashy, and WAY too obsessed with her son's sex lives (gag). I hated Hound and his creepy friendship with the 89-year-old lady. I hated that he put his hands on Keely in anger, then somehow while "apologizing" turned it around, so it was really HER fault for not being open with him?? <-- what a surprise (insert sarcasm voice) this is pretty much KA's go to MO. The gauntlet thing was stupid (how old are these guys??!!) BUT...I LOVED that Rush told them off! And I loved the Bev found her HEA after what that fuckwad Boz did to her.

Here is to hoping she doesn't fuck up Rush's book for me!

description

Remember WAY back in the Rock Chick series Rock Chick Renegade when Vince got all up in Roam's face when he put his hands on Jules and said: "Never put your hands on a woman in anger." Ya, well, someone needed to give him a call because apparently NOW in KA land it is A-OK to put your hands on a woman in anger...If I have said it once, I have said it a million times. I am 100% convinced that KA hates women.

3 1/2 to 4 Stars

Although I had a rocky start, I ended up loving this book. And what surprised me was Hound, a character in whom I had no interest, has now joined two other KA heroes to land on my all-time favorite heroes shelf. I fell head-over-heels in love with his character. But...OMG...the over-the-top, over abundance of sex scenes during the first 35% of this book almost had me not finishing it. Sheesh! It was too much! Luckly, the plot showed up (big time) and we were finally given the heroine, Keely’s, POV, which made a huge difference in my feelings about her and the love story. I loved their love story. It was heart-wrenching, heart-melting, and heart-warming. It brought tears to my eyes and made me remember why I love Kristen Ashley’s writing so much. I also loved Keely’s sons, Dutch and Jagger. They added a lot of heart-and-soul to this story. However, I could have done without the crude-ish sex talk between Keely and her two boys. I get that they’re adult children but she’s their mom and that made me a bit uncomfortable to read. I will admit the conversation at the kitchen table while Hound was cooking pancakes was hilarious.

Anyway, I really enjoyed Wild Like the Wind. It would have been a 4.5 or maybe even a 5 Star read for me (because of Hound and the love story) if not for the crazy amount of sex scenes, especially at the beginning, that, for me, robbed the plotline. With that said, there’s no one that writes heart-and-soul romance like Kristen Ashley. No one!

Overall Opinion: The first half of the book?! F-Loved! It could just be me and my weird obsession with unrequited love type stories, but I just don't think that second half was anywhere near as good as the first. It felt like it changed from being about these two finally getting together to focusing too much on other people's stories. I get that Bev and Boz are a part if the mc and have been side characters in the other stories, but I just wasn't all that interested in all that went along with their drama. It also brought in the club drama. I get that it's an mc, and we've been reading about the goings on with this mc for a while -- but I wanted to go back to focusing their relationship! Oh well... I got my cry in at least for that first half, and overall I liked the book.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Keely and Hound's story. Keely's husband, Black, was a member of Chaos MC when he died. Hound steps up in a big way to fill his role in taking care of Keely and raising her two sons. He has been in love with Keely, but club rules don't allow him to even consider going there. Many years later, Keely decides she's had enough beating around the bush and makes a move on Hound. They start a secret affair and fall deeper in love. There is some mc and friend drama, some hot sexy times, and some sad moments...and they get a HEA ending.

POV: This alternated between focusing on Hound in 3rd person narrative and Keely's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well.

Instalove: No, they take (~18) years to start a relationship. They do have strong feelings for one another when they eventually start their relationship.

H rating: 5 stars. Hound. What an awesome H! He is up there with my personal top KA heroes! The way he took care of everyone in such a selfless way?! Swoon.

h rating: 3.5 stars. Keely. She was a tough cookie, and she was a good old lady. I did want her to communicate with Hound better (especially in the beginning).

Sadness level: Moderate/high. I cried a good bit for the first half of this book. Unrequited love feeling and the H caring for his elderly neighbor definitely got to me!

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This had good closure with what I would call a HEA ending even though it opens the story up for the last book in the series. But as for the couple, I'd still say it was good closure.

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

OK...here goes...as a fan of KA from day one... if she resolves Hound and Keely's story in the first two chapters (see all her books since The Promise) and the rest of the book is about cooking and setting up house together I AM DONE WITH HER!!! Please let this be an actual book and not a lifestyle and cooking book.
Thanks :)

Have you ever loved the tone of a story so much that before you're even halfway through, you already want to go back to the beginning and start again? I felt that way repeatedly throughout Wild Like the Wind. Every bit of this story had me giddy with inexplicable emotion, elated over the promise of what was to come, overwhelmed with unease over how complicated this story was shaping up to be. But more, I was completely intoxicated by the rush of being back in the world of Chaos. Of all the Kristen Ashley novels in her library, there are none that I love and reread more than the Chaos series. So being back in the world of these fiercely loyal bikers who love hard and fight hard to protect their own while living wild and free was like a shot of adrenaline straight to my heart. I'm addicted to this series and I'm a reader who revisits it regularly, so I'm thrilled to share that Hound and Keely's story is one I'll be rereading again and again.

There is so much beauty in this story I don't even know where to begin. Hound came out of nowhere and shattered my heart, quickly becoming one of my all time favorite KA heroes. Even now, my heart both cracks and soars when I think back on everything he is on these pages. Keely and Hound's romance is breathtaking and gut wrenching and deliciously sexy, it's everything I didn't even know to hope for when I began reading. But I have to say, the dynamic between Hound and Jean will stand out as one of the most unforgettable, inspiring relationships between two characters I've ever read in a Kristen Ashley novel. The friendships and loyalties between KA's characters are truly the backbone of every single one of her books. It's never just about the romance in her stories, it's about the inextricable ties that link every single personality together in her vast ensemble of characters. And the connection Hound shares with Jean, the unconditional love and the most selfless form of friendship was so incredibly moving to witness. They say one's character is defined by who they are when no one else is watching, and Hound's truth and his heart and the absolute beauty of his character is never more evident than when he's with Jean. If you don't fall hard and fast for this blue-eyed biker, something is seriously wacked in your soul.

Wild Like the Wind is an all consuming romance about second chances, about grabbing life by the balls, about finding your way back after grief, but it's all swathed in a deliciously forbidden biker romance, and if there's anything more delicious in the world than the idea of a forbidden MC romance courtesy of Kristen Ashley, I'd like to be formally introduced immediately. The forbidden nature of what's growing between Hound and Keely is something the Chaos MC has strict rules against. But more, Keely and Hound's own turmoil over moving on together with the shadow of the past hanging over them is just as emotionally taxing as keeping it a secret from the club. This story is raw and intense and complicated and it all makes for such an emotionally tumultuous reading experience. There's something palpable about the way KA characters love each other and take each other's backs and because of that, the notion that Hound and Keely getting together might bring the wrath of the club upon them is a legitimate fear that you both want to see tested in the name of love and avoided for the sake of brotherhood.

I absolutely ADORED this story from beginning to end. The history of the club, all we know about Chaos' darkest days, comes full circle in this book, bridging the past with the present, laying the framework for future drama and more inevitable romance. It's both addictive and awe inspiring what Kristen Ashley continues to do with each Chaos installment, masterfully weaving together decades of longing, loss, brotherhood and rivalry to create new standalone romances that are both refreshingly thrilling and comfortably familiar. As each Chaos brother finds his way to happy, more drama and uncertainty is unleashed on the club ensuring the reader is instantly ravenous for more. That's where I'm now left... with an epic book hangover, completely bereft that Wild Like the Wind is over, my heart overflowing with joy and peace over Keely and Hound's unforgettable romance, but bursting with both dread and anticipation for what's sure to come in the wake of these events.

Made me feel like being Wild again…

Before I get started on this review, I need to get something off my chest. My 15-year-old son has just informed me that football is more important than school. [HEAD EXPLODING!!!!] He’s got a cold and had yesterday off and now hes telling me he should have today off because tonight is his last game for the season and he wants to go. Bloody hell, parenting SUCKS sometimes. I know, as a good mother (or someone posing as one), my response should be…SCHOOL FOR YOU, my darling boy. But, I kind of get it. Sometimes, you just want to be a little Wild, buck the rules and be all about the fun times.

Ha…did you see that? I didn’t plan on ^^^^ that, but I somehow tied Wild Like the Wind to my life.

I really enjoyed my journey with the Chaos boys and their old ladies. It wasn’t a particularly easy journey and I found myself frustrated, cranky and upset with some of the things that played out. I also found myself laughing, crying and sighing with joy in parts of the story. Seriously, I feel like since the Honey series came out, Kristen Ashley’s sexy times have vamped up BIG TIME!! This book was seriously hot. Not OTT kinky stuff, just the kind of connection that draws you in, gets your heart pumping and makes you shake, shimmy and shiver in delight.

It’s always a tricky subject when one of the characters loved the love of their life and have to move on. In Keely’s case, her job of moving on is a lot harder. She must bring up her beloved sons without the man who helped make them. Her blood family isn’t there for her, but, she has one better…CHAOS. This is a good thing and a bad thing. She’s surrounded by good, protective, caring men BUT she’s surrounded by good, protective, caring men…she can’t touch. Nearly 18 years have gone by and there’s one brother who she can’t touch but she wants to.

Wow, Hound was very different to how I pictured him. I’m sure there are other reviewers who have mentioned it but I don’t want to. See, I was completely shocked when he walked into the apartment next to his…and that is all I’m going to say.

I absolutely love that KA can give us a gritty motorcycle romance read without it being chuck worthy. By that I mean, no skank was degraded, I didn’t see anyone’s head blown off and I didn’t want to scrub away the filth after reading. Sure, there’s a wee bit of blood, skanks are mentioned, and Hound’s apartment was dirty, but that’s about it.

I’m glad I took the journey with Hound and Keely, saw them battle to their HEA and came out the other side to get a hint of Rush

5 all for my Hound stars!

Kristen Ashley what I have you done to me with this his book! Seriously!

One of the things I love about KA chaos series is the brotherhood. The love and bond this men have for each other and their women. But this one tested me like no other it tested MY love and bond for them!

This one made me nervous because it’s Keely’s story and we know she was married to Black who was murder. We also know that Hound has been in love with Keely for years.

Like I said it made nervous because I thought Black would be an obstacle between Hound an Keely, but he only made their love much stronger. I loved how KA works her magic with the build up of the MC romance. From the moment of Black’s death to the present we see through those years how Hound is there for Keely and how can’t she not fall for him?! when he becomes everything to her and her boys.

Can’t believe everything that happened with the brotherhood they seriously had me worried, but dam did they give me my happy tears after all was set and done. Man they are not called “chaos” for nothing! I have to mention how impressed I was by Rush he blew my mind how he stood for Hound.

Hound I cannot say enough about him! Tack has always been my favorite, but I have to say Hound has become my #1! He is an incredible man, his loyalty to his brother has no limits, a fighter through and through. The love he felt for not just Keely but for her sons is beyond words and most of all the devotion the tenderness he had for his Jean bean! Omg! That really had me in tears. Truly the best of men.

I’m so ready for the showdown and the last book in the chaos series even though I’m sad to see it end but excited to finally see some bad guys go down. Rush your turn now.♥️

”It’s the God’s honest truth. We’re brothers when it’s all good and we’re brothers when it’s in the shitter, and we’re brothers when we fuck up or we’re not brothers at all”

4 stars!

"Today, I woke up a loser. But I’m gonna end the night a winner.”

Hound has loved Keely for years, but she's the widow of one of his Chaos brothers and off limits. Over 18 years he was there for her, until an argument between them made him run away and Keely pursues him. Embarking on a physical relationship, there are a lot of issues that are between them...

^^^Okay so not my best synopsis, but I tried. What I can say was I was really surprised I enjoyed this one as much as I did, no offense to Ashley but her newer books can be a hit or a miss for me. But from the beginning I was absorbed into the story and couldn't put my phone down (kindle app). This book reminded me of why I fell in love with Ashley's books to begin with.

If you're on the fence give this book a chance! It's really good!

After reading "Rough Ride" and being a bit disappointed, I really needed this one to be good. Lately KA's books have not been doing it for me and that's depressing, because most of her earlier work is on my " deserves 6 stars" list.

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor that makes me sad gif

Now, even though this book didn't blow me away....it also didn't annoy me like "Rough Ride" did. It also wasn't all about clothes and (home) make-overs, like the last couple of books were... It was actually an oke read for me.

Since "Own the Wind" is one of my all time favorite reads, it's gonna be pretty hard for KA to top that one ;) She came close with "Ride Steady" though. Now while I enjoyed reading this book, it was no where near as epic, as those books were for me.

Gerelateerde afbeelding

The MC's were pretty great. Hound was a bit of an ass at times, but since we also got to see lot's of his nurturing and caring side, it wasn't too hard to forgive him for his assholish behavior.....Because this is a KA and the hero is bound to fuck up at one point !!

That said, I still wished Keeley would have hold on to her grudge a bit longer than a couple of hours.... But considering the number of O's he gave her, and how he practically raised her boys... I kinda understood :P

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor orgasms gif

The first half of this book had a lot of steam...and I do mean a LOT !!

There is still some background bussiness going on, having to do with a former "brother" and Benito... All is about to come to blows !!

And while Shy and Joker are still my favorite hero's for this series... I have a feeling that might be changing with the next book.....Rush' book. Because he was freaking EPIC in this book and I think (read HOPE) he will be EPIC in his own book as well !!!!!

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor you are epic gif

So while I enjoyed this one..... I think it really is time for Rush' book. I have been waiting for his story since I met him in "Motorcycle Man" and if he is anything like his daddy (which I hope)...I am gonna love him to pieces !! Bring it please !!!!!

5 STARS

In a word this romance was phenomenal. Once again Kristen Ashley touched the heart of me with her masterful writing style and dynamic characters. This series is undoubtedly my absolute favorite as these gritty Chaos brothers and their women own a piece of me. This novel was no exception. Overwhelmed by all the feels, Wild Like the Wind was beyond amazing, and I walked away from this read tingling with excitement. Intense, wildly emotional and savagely passionate, Hound and Keely's journey both wrecked and healed me.

Following the series, I knew that this would not be an easygoing read with the heroine being Black's widow, but confident that Ashley would deliver another exceptional heart wrenching, exquisitely uplifting romance. She did not disappoint. With each turn of the page, she controlled my emotions while guiding me through this couple's complicated relationship. Their struggles, from both dealing with grief and profound feelings of hopelessness to Hound's guilt for falling desperately in love with a woman he could never claim, pulled at my heartstrings. This couple faced a slew of uphill battles that had me anxious. With a forbidden relationship, defying the code of brotherhood, dealing with hurt feelings and misunderstandings ~ the angst level in this read was palatable, but I relished every minute of it.

I adored Keely, even though it took some time to see the real 'old lady' behind the shroud of grief, and I confess she made me a bit nervous. Knowing she mourned Black for over eighteen years, was left alone with two young boys (Dutch and Jagger, the coolest little bikers that stole my heart) and seeing the extent of her anger and sorrow in Walk Through Fire, had me on edge. Keely needed to persuade me that her devotion to Hound was sincere. But seeing how she made peace with the past and opened her heart to Hound convinced me. I loved Keely's perseverance and will to find her wild again with the one man she needed - Hound.

Shepherd "Hound" Ironside blew me away and I was amazed by the depths of his love, beauty, and pain. He was so much more than the peripheral, stoic man known as Chaos' "dog on a leash." His fierce loyalty and driving need to shield those he loved was tremendously admirable. Hopelessly in love with Keely for so many years, I was overjoyed when he finally had his heart's desire.

Completely unaware of how his family cherished and respected him, it was touching to see Hound's surprise when realizing he was worthy of their affections.

And the sacrifices he made, scarring his soul to protect the club and avenge his fallen brother, he had me in awe. These were some of the reasons why I fell hard for this hero. But Hound's greatest moments, where he undeniably captured my heart, was through his relationships with Jean-Bug, Dutch, and Jagger.

I cannot begin to describe my adoration for Jean. Her character was such a positive force in Shepherd's life, she brought out his inner beauty, gentleness, and compassion. Jean was his family outside of the club and their connection was incredibly powerful. You'll need to meet Jean for yourself and fall in love with all of her awesomeness.

Hound was a constant presence in Dutch and Jagger's lives since Black's passing. The way he loved these boys, how he selflessly gave of himself and treated them as his own without overshadowing their father, made me fall deeper in love with him. He honored his brother's memory by helping Keely guide them to become the men their father dreamed they would be. They too brought out the best in Hound.

There was so much goodness in this romance to enjoy. Hound was an unbelievably sexy and swoon-worthy hero. This badass biker boy and his old lady liked it rough and dirty as they devoured each other. Seriously, their chemistry was so wildly explosive, they had me breathless, clenching my way through this read.

Wild Like the Wind was a remarkable story of second chances, hope, undying love and the bonds of brotherhood strengthening after weathering the storm. Tensions continue to escalate within the club as they gear up to face their enemies and Benito Valenzuela. Threats weigh heavily on these brothers, and I cannot wait to see it come to a head in the next and last book in the series.

I would have liked Hound and Keely in the past perhaps something epic to hold onto that he loved her all along. As is, they came across as a good couple just not a memorable one. However, the Chaos action was very interesting and I'm super excited for the next and final book!!

“…no matter how much it took, how deep it dug, how empty it left him, he’d give her what she needed even if it left nothing of him, and after she was gone, he drifted to ash and blew away with the wind.”

A tour de force novel that has everything Kristen Ashley’s fans have come to expect from this remarkable storyteller, this latest instalment in the Chaos series is everything I hoped it would be, and so much more. A tale of unrequited love, of an enduring love, a steadfast love, a selfless love—Hound and Keely’s story begs to be read more than once—each page loaded with detail and depth, and each character searing and beautiful. Kristen Ashley has a knack for writing complex emotions and making us feel every single one of them as she pulls us into her stories with words, imagery and compelling plot lines that play our heartstrings like a fiddle. But the true beauty of her stories lies in the way they stay with us long after we’ve read them, each passing recollection of them luring us into revisiting them time and time again, while their overwhelming effect on us never loses charge. Every time I finish reading a new Chaos novel, I have a new favourite, but Hound and Keely’s love story had me at the first line.

I remember reading Joker's story in Ride Steady and feeling this bubbling up of emotion.  There was this pain that Kristen Ashley captured that just did something to me as a reader. It gave me an emotional tie to that book, and Wild Like The Wind evokes those same emotions.

This story is absolutely everything I have ever loved about Kristen Ashley. The pace is spot on. I was never wanting things to move quicker - because let's face it when reading a KA  book, you know you are going to be in it for the long haul. This book made me want to savor every single page.

In this book, we have Hound and Keeley. Keeley lost her husband 18 years earlier. Her husband was a brother- a good man. Hound is a brother and a good man too.
"It would be her who ended it. Because no matter how much it took, how deep it dug, how empty it left him, he'd give her what she needed even if it left nothing of him, and after she was gone, he drifted to ash and blew away with the wind."

There is so much stinking feeling in this book, if you are a KA fan, you will shout to the heavens because everything you have ever loved about her writing is right here in this book.

We know Kristen Ashley writes great side characters, but in this book, it is off the charts amazing.

I cried when Hound and Jean had their moments. I cried when Hound and Keeley had it out. I cried when the boys talked to their momma and she had some serious heart to hearts. I cried when those boys stuck up for her. I cried when hound had words with his brothers. This is a love story alright but it has so much heart.

I laughed a bunch at the end when we saw the sisterhoods revival.

Oh, and I was on the edge of my seat some wanting anxiously to know what is happening with the MC.

I am a little jealous that Hound cleans. I was side-eyeing my man and how he throws his clothes on the floor. Then KA, wrote these words and he was really getting the stink eye, even if he was asleep and had no clue.
"And you got somethin' good, you put work into it to keep it that way."

If you haven't read Chaos, I suggest you do! My next listen on audible is going to be Motorcycle Man, because man oh man, did this make me want to start at the beginning of Tack's story all over again. And can I just say, thanks Kristen Ashley for giving us this!

3.5 Conflicted Stars!!

I’m so conflicted about Hound and Keely. Don’t get me wrong, it’s KA so naturally enjoyed it. Absolutely. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love KA, that said lately her books are hit or miss with me. But, I have to say, even her misses are better than most books I’ve tried to read lately, I’ve been in a MAJOR book funk for quite awhile. So when one of my go to one-click authors has a new release I consume it, with the hopes the storyline and characters will consume me, because admittedly her books are like a drug and I’m highly addicted. Anywho, I liked Hound and Keely but, unfortunately I didn’t love them.

I liked Keely but then she’d say something or think something that I couldn’t grasp or relate to...the thing I liked and even admired about her was her bettering herself to provide for her boys who naturally became her lifeline and kept her together (along with Hound) after unexpectedly becoming a widow and single mother. As a mother myself to two young adult boys, I can’t invision them openingly discussing how much pussy their getting with me, so I had a difficult time relating to her on that level....kudos to her....I guess.

 photo 3DFAC04B-D31A-4682-BB53-06AFBF4A01C0_zpstlc2hcpi.jpeg

Shepard “Hound” Ironside has been in love with Keely for years but because she belonged to a Chaos brother he never went there with her. Yet, in the 17 years since the death of his Brother, he has been the one Keely has relied on in every aspect, especially with raising her sons. I’m not sure that he would have went there with her if she hadn’t made the first move. I loved the softer side of Hound we were shown with an endearing elderly women he looks after.

Final thoughts: I’m glad Hound and Keely get an HEA after enduring a bumpy road. I really enjoyed the side story concerning Boz and Beverly although they weren’t pivotal to H&K’s storyline so it kinda felt like filler to me. My favorite scene was the “old ladies”, Rush, and Keely’s sons confronting the entirety of Chaos to defend Hound...especially Rush, I found a new respect and admiration for him and after reading the prologue for Free I cannot wait for his book. Lastly, I’m a bit confused about something so maybe someone here can enlighten me. At the end of Rough Ride Snapper witnessed or was involved in something and made calls to Rush, Tack and someone else...was what he witnessed addressed? Was it the Natalie thing? Welp, that’s it. Hope y’all enjoyed Hound & Keely!

This is going to be a tough one to review. There were parts I absolutely loved, and I didn't want to put the book down, and parts that kind of dragged...and you'll be surpised at the parts that dragged. Well maybe.

So, Chaos MC book #6 is Hound's book. Hound is the muscle of the club. He does the dirty work, the tough stuff that needs to be done. At the beginning of the book, Hound (aka Shepherd Ironside!) is a young man (22-ish), and the story starts with a little background history on how Tack (Kane Allen) became the new leader of Chaos and how the old president was dethroned. Chaos was heading in a new direction--Tack and his men wanted to get rid of the illegal stuff, and to clean the club up. Not everyone wanted to get clean, especially the current President (Crank). So Crank betrays his club in the worst way possible, and Kane makes him pay. Big time. And Hound is there to do the dirty work.

The person who pays the most for Crank's betrayal is Keely Black. She loses the love of her life and is left to raise her two young boys alone. Of course the men of Chaos are there to help her, but none is more present than Hound. Hound has always, always loved Keely, but of course could never do anything about it. Even though Keely was now technically available, she really wasn't because of the unwritten rules of Chaos. You do not ever hook up/date/marry a Brother's Old Lady. An Old Lady belongs to only one man. So, Hound carries a torch for Keely, for 17 long years.

The story picks up 17 years later, where Hound is now 39 and Keely is 42. Her boys are grown men now (Dutch 21, Jagger 19) and are Chaos recruits. Hound lives a simple existence in a dingy apartment (he can afford better) and with no family to speak of. There's a reason he lives where he lives (that's a spoiler--and a beautiful one). He stills looks after Keely and her family, still pines for her, but a hurtful comment she makes to him opens his eyes and makes him realize that he's been wasting his life. He drops out of her life for a while, and that's when Keely opens her eyes to what's been right in front of her for all these years...

Let me just say that I loved Hound right from the start and was with him the whole way. Now Keely...I wasn't too happy with her at first. I did think that she used him (check out KA's reference to the song "Use Me" by Bill Withers) at first. And Hound wondered the same. Was she just using him? But, ah, once we get inside Keely's head and hear her pov, my opinion of her started to change. And I grew to love her as the story progressed.

And it was a good story too. The club is still being threatened by this Valenzuela character and this former brother, but that part of the story didn't interest me as much as the developing love between Hound and Keely. That's what had me turning the pages. Would Hound and Keely get a HEA? Would there be hell to pay when the Brothers found out? Would Hound get the family he always longed for? He was such a tough, yet sweet soul with a big heart, something had to go right in his life for once...

I also loved the story of Hound .

I liked seeing all the 'old ladies' bond and come together in support of Hound and Keely. Way to go, ladies! It's time these guys realized it's the 21st century!

Now, to be nit-picky.
This book was long (aren't all KA books long?)
But man, the first 25% of the book had so many sex scenes...it just about wore me out and I was starting to get bored...give me some story, please! I get it, I get it, they had an unquenchable thirst for each other. They were both insatiable when it came to each other. They were making up for lost time...But did every encounter have to be told with such detail? She rides him, she sits on his face, he flips her, her strips her, he spanks her, he yanks her, she eats him...enough. She gives him her a**. I get it. For me, it got a bit repetitive. Don't get me wrong, the first encounters were hot, but... I needed some story. Thankfully, it eventually took off. So hang in there if you wonder if there's more to this book than the sexcapades. There's sorrow, there are tears, there is loss, but there is laughter, there is hope, there is family, and of course there is a HEA.

Not my absolute favorite of the series, but still a very solid 4 stars.

I think this is the key. I knew EXACTLY what I was getting going into it and it delivered on those expectations.
-Sassy heroine? Check.
-Rough biker with a soft underbelly that says brother and/or babe alot? Check.
-Lots o' sexy, alot of it raunchy, occasionally heartfelt? Check.
-Friendships that carry the story, because they feel genuine? Check.
-Funny scenes, because of said friendships and couples, that make you laugh out loud? Check.
-Characters that ALL sound the same, from the biker to the local teacher? Check.
-Overarching storyline that moves in small increments? Check.
-Abundance of KA-speak which occasionally requires re-reading a one paragraph sentence a couple of times to get the cadence right? Check.
-Cringe-worthy scenes involving a POC and/or OTT misogynistic language? Check.
-Scenes that made me uncomfortable for its clear violence towards the female characters in this 'verse? Check.

Speaking of, on the WTFery scale, there was more violence, so this notched up to a 2 from the usual 1 for a Chaos book. Keeping in mind that it's a biker romance and the misogyny is baked into biker culture (if you call a woman property, it's misogynistic, I don't care how you frame it), I do think KA is ratcheting up the violence to gear up for the finale, but it's still not out of the norm for the language, sex and violence levels in a typical biker rom.

Did I have the same feels for it that I did Joke and Carissa's story or pretty much most KA classics? Nope, that ship has sailed.

I didn't love it, but I didn't loathe it. I know the formula and while I cringed more, I still laughed at parts, was touched at times, and read it pretty quickly. If you're a KA fan, you'll find things to enjoy. If you're a disenfranchised KA fan, it's not going to change you back into a believer.

At this point, I'm pot-committed to this series, so I'm reading the last book.

im all in for unrequited love and one-sided pining, but not when its directed towards someone who’s already found their happily ever after person. its painful - but more accurately in Hound’s (H) case, since he was already pining for more than EIGHTEEN years, (sorry to say) it made him rather pathetic and a doormat. what do i know about loving the one though (if hes so sure about it)?

so i didnt fully believe in Hound and Keely’s (h) love. especially since it took Keely EIGHTEEN years to move on from her dead husband (the love of her life). i didnt feel assured that Hound wasnt second best or a consolation prize. i suppose people can find more than one epic love in life, but since im not really into reading about that type of romance, i guess this book was already a hard sell for me to begin with.

but beyond that, there wasnt anything (else) special here either. it was full of trashy sex, and i was honestly surprised by the lack of MC plot. i did like Hound’s POV more than Keely’s, and Jag and Dutch were awesome. also, ngl i think i was more invested in Tad and Bev love story. lastly, i havent picked up a KA book in a month (i know, shocking!), and the humor was entertaining and felt pretty nostalgic.

#2 Fire Inside — 3 stars

5 Stars!

“I’d never hurt you.”
She’d been killing him for twenty years.
He didn’t enlighten her about that.

First thoughts after finishing: HERE COMES THE BOOK HANGOVER FROM HELL! <<--- Because, oh my gosh! I will NEVER get enough of this series, this cast of characters, or this world that Kristen Ashley has so meticulously created. It is hands down the BEST BIKER series I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I'm so in awe of his authors talent for weaving characters together from different series, different books, making it one impeccably cohesive world. It's so so so immersive and all consuming. I honestly, can’t swoon over it enough. I get beside myself giddy when I hear a new book is coming from KA! She delivers. And man, did she deliver MAJOR with Wild Like the Wind. If you haven't started this series, if you haven't read a Kristen Ashley book, you are missing out. This is only my 24th novel of hers, I have MANY MORE to go, her catalog is extensive, but it's another FIVE star winner that I want to stand on a mountain top and SCREAM about. It's everything. Every. single. thing!!! And I am so completely addicted her novels.

Wild Like the Wind, the 6th installment in the Chaos Series, is going to DESTROY you. It is the most intensely passionate story about Hound and Keely. It's got all the lush feels, all those deliciously achy emotions that reach into your chest, grab your heart, and squeezeeeeeeeeeee! I felt this couple’s story deep. Hound is pure sweetness, which actually took me by surprise. I did not expect this big, broody, masculine enforcer to have such a soft side, but he had it, and it made me melty and breathless. Obviously all KA heroes are always intense and protective, but when it came to Hound's love for Keely it was another level--utterly relentless and so powerful.

Keely Black is a widow. Her husbands murder devastated her, dousing her spark for life. Over the years Hound takes care of everything for this woman. He brings her what she needs, takes care of her boys, gives her whatever he can, whenever he can. Keely's husband was the heart of Chaos, and Chaos takes care of their own. But for Hound it's more, he cares for her unconditionally. And it KILLSSSSSSSSSSS! This book is all about true love. It's Keely and Hound's struggle to find happiness, and it’s PURE BEAUTY. I couldn't get enough of this heart rendering romance. The sweet moments peppered with the harsh and gritty hit me hard. I absolutely loved the pacing, the sub-plot that keeps us involved, the writing, the character development, the everything. There isn't a single word in this book that I didn't absolutely love.

If you're a Chaos fan, prepare to be swept up in a lush, heart stopping romance that will steal your heart. And if you’re not, if you haven’t started these books, I urge you to do it. Although Wild Like the Wind can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Motorcycle Man first and then hopping into the Chaos books. These characters are gritty perfection and every last one of them will leave a mark on you. I’m honestly so blown away by this book, this series, this author. It truly doesn’t get better than Kristen Ashley when it comes to romance. I’m such a fan! FIVE STARS!!!!!

“Life’s a game, Hound. People don’t play it. We’re pawns. It plays us. And every day you don’t know how it’s gonna play you. You could wake up a winner, or you could wake up a loser.” She pressed into him, tightening her arms around him. “But when you’re wild like the wind like we are, you roll with it. Today, I woke up a loser. But I’m gonna end the night a winner.”

*** Thank you to Kristen Ashley for the ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

This is like 70% sex and 30% story. Now I’ve read a grundle (*cough* more than 40 *cough*) of KA books and so I know a few things going into them.
1 -- There will be sex. It will be steamy and usually there is at least one scene in a shower. Seriously how does no one end up with a concussion going to town in the shower
2 -- There will be a verbal smackdown with family or friends who are being jerks and deserve the smackdown. Usually my favorite moment in the book
3 -- The guy will make a colossal mistake and totally screw things up for a little while. ALWAYS
4 -- Sometimes the language will seem strange and totally be stunted. that is what happens sometimes when alpha males talk. KA is like the only author I never seem to mind this with.
5 -- There will be that aw-shucks moment that I might want to tear up a little/a lot at.

But my emotional connection to the characters didn’t run as deep in this one since I honestly just got tired of them having sex. At one point during this book I texted book BFF and fellow KA addict to say that either I’m remembering all the prior KA books I’ve read wrong or there is a ton of sex in this one.

Okay so the story is Keely lost her husband 18 years ago and since then all the Chaos brothers have chipped in to take care of her over the years. But Hound was there the most and that was because he loved her even when she belonged to another man. He has been there to help with her boys and anything else she might possibly need but still keeping his distance since she was once his brother’s wife and you just don’t go there.

Keely has decided that she is done mourning the man she loved with everything she was and it is time to start living again. Hound is the man she has decided to do that with even if she has to convince him that she is moving on and he is doing that with her.

It is a cute story and I love these, I’ve loved you for so long and now let’s make a go of it stories. But there hook up starts really early and after every cute thing they have sex, after every argument they have sex, after breakfast they have sex. Do you see where I’m going with this. I mean I honestly got tired of how much they were having sex <this is kinda a first for me so it feels weird to say>.

It took forever to get to the meat of the story and there was only a little bit of movement on the Chaos overall arc front with the problems with a rival that wants to take chaos down. There is a really cool twist/turn but it came incredibly late to the story.

I was a little afraid in this that Boz was going to be the next story. I really have hated how he treated his ex Bev and so the last thing I really wanted was for them to have another go since he cheated on her and I’m never okay with that. But I loved where KA took that part of the story and I have no worries now that Bev is going to be happy in the future too.

Overall this is fluff wrapped in a lot of sex. I’m not saying that is a bad thing. I sometimes don’t mind if it is 90% sex and 10% story if that is what I’m looking for. I just expected a little more substance to storyline.

Liked it but didn't love it.

After Rough Ride, I was actually more interested in the plot revolving the bad guys then I was the romance between Hound and Keely. I was only partially satisfied as some new villains were introduced which seems odd, and I still don't know why Snapper was walking in the rain.

WLTW is really the story of how Hound and Keely have sex, more sex, and even more sex while they hide their relationship from Chaos. Maybe it's just me, but despite all the sex I didn't have a great handle on Hound's unrequited love. His moody tension from the other books gave me more feelings than this one. Keely was the instigator, and I think Hound took one too many blows to the head for him to get the fact that she wants him, not the sainted Black. That disconnect plus some other character issues just left me with an okay feeling.

That said, I stayed up till the crack of dawn to read this.

Let's face it, if you are a Kristen Ashley fan or a Chaos fan you're going to read this regardless of any review, and it's not like it's terrible. It is simply not as good as the first few in the series, but that's pretty normal for any longterm series.

Here's hoping KA hits it out of the ballpark with her next and, sniffle, last Chaos book.

This book was a rehashing of every KA book. I’m too tired to write a review. So I’m stealing one from another Laura. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... My friend Page alerted me to this review and it sums up my thoughts perfectly. Only I gave it two stars because I liked the beginning.

In case you aren’t familiar with this series, here is a gifified Cliffs’ Notes to catch you up. Each of them starts with a male and female lead who are not meant to be together. It may be for a hate-to-love trope, or an ill-fated romance or (in this case) because a relationship between the two is strictly verboten, but whatever the case they can’t be together. Which then pretty much immediately morphs into the first 40-50% of the books going a little something like this . . . .

And will have your kids overhearing words they shouldn’t know and you coming up with fast-on-your-feet alternate definitions . . . .

Eventually they stop being only a bangfest and you get a little emotion and depth and then they end in a happily-ever-after and you go to the library either the next day or the next month to get the next one because . . . . .

I’m not even kidding either. I mean, I pretty much creamed my jeans over Motorcycle Man which was the jumping off point that spurred this Chaos series, but none of the other books particularly knocked my socks off. I keep reading ‘em though! It’s been a couple of years since my last foray into Ashley’s motorbiker world, but the time change totally fucks me up and my job changed again a couple of weeks ago and Billy’s book hadn’t been released yet (you know what I’m talking ‘bout if you are a pornohead) and I should have just bought Crux Untamed, but this was available at the library and I needed some trash so I figured what the hell.

I had told myself I wasn’t going to read this because I wasn’t a super fan of the leading male throughout the series. Not only is it hard to picture anyone other than my husband . . . .

When they have the same name, but this dude was like literally a fucking nutcase who slit dude’s throats for a living, but since I know how these KA stories go, I knew he’d go from crazy to . . . .

In about 3.2 seconds.

What I didn’t know was that Ashley is a bit out of touch with all forms of humanity and she would present the leading lady with long black hair down to her butt and an excessive amount of bone necklaces and feathers and bullshit to let us know just how Native American she was . . . .

(If you didn’t think I was going to take that easy layup of a joke, you obviously don’t know me very well.)

I also didn’t know that the reason these two were forbidden from being together was because her husband was murdered and a “brother” can’t ever bang another brother’s old lady. WTF?!?!?!?!?

So FUCKING 18 YEARS goes by and then they finally admit they have feelings. But they have to keep it secret and will just be fuck buddies and then will still keep it secret even though he is pretty much moved into her house and then he has to get the shit beat out of him by anyone who thinks they shouldn’t be together due to this absolutely assbackward mindset where apparently you are still cheating on your spouse even though he’s already rotted in the grave for fucking eternity before moving on. And THEN to top everything off it has to end with them having a baby – despite her being in her mid-40s and having not one but TWO grown ass men children already because EVERY old broad like me just dreams of starting all over again for another 18 years . . . .

JFC – not everything has to end with a baby. Or even getting married. They could have just shacked up for the rest of their lives and that would have been good enough for me.

Oh, and one final thing: The cartel B.S. is still hinted about sporadically in this one. I assume this whole sub-story will come to a head in the final book, but what a freaking waste of time and pages it has been so far. Either shit or get off the pot already.
