Although I had a rocky start, I ended up loving this book. And what surprised me was Hound, a character in whom I had no interest, has now joined two other KA heroes to land on my all-time favorite heroes shelf. I fell head-over-heels in love with his character. But...OMG...the over-the-top, over abundance of sex scenes during the first 35% of this book almost had me not finishing it. Sheesh! It was too much! Luckly, the plot showed up (big time) and we were finally given the heroine, Keely’s, POV, which made a huge difference in my feelings about her and the love story. I loved their love story. It was heart-wrenching, heart-melting, and heart-warming. It brought tears to my eyes and made me remember why I love Kristen Ashley’s writing so much. I also loved Keely’s sons, Dutch and Jagger. They added a lot of heart-and-soul to this story. However, I could have done without the crude-ish sex talk between Keely and her two boys. I get that they’re adult children but she’s their mom and that made me a bit uncomfortable to read. I will admit the conversation at the kitchen table while Hound was cooking pancakes was hilarious.

Anyway, I really enjoyed Wild Like the Wind. It would have been a 4.5 or maybe even a 5 Star read for me (because of Hound and the love story) if not for the crazy amount of sex scenes, especially at the beginning, that, for me, robbed the plotline. With that said, there’s no one that writes heart-and-soul romance like Kristen Ashley. No one!

Robin (Bridge Four) I totally agreed about the over abundance of sex. I usually love the amount of sex in a KA book but it took so long to really get going into an actual plot that I struggled.

Wonder if the next book is Tack's son

I really did love this book but the sex was over the top. And, yes, the next book is Rush’s book (Tack’s Son). The first charter was at the end of this book.

Kim I guess I need to keep pushing through. I keep putting it down since I have been struggling with the beginning of the book and am still not sure I like Hound or Keely yet. Lol

Hi Kim. I hope you ended up getting through the book and enjoying it. I can totally understand why you may have thrown in the towel before the plot actually showed up though. I’m not sure why this book was so heavenly focused on the sex. It’s a shame because Hound is a famous hero and though Keely isn’t my favorite of her heroines, I appreciated her for what added to Hounds life by the end of the story. It was a good plot the got a bit lost in all the sex.

Kim Several months later and almost quitting a few more times I finally finished it. After that first 40 percent it became much more of the type of chaos book I expected and came to love the characters. But it was long and took a bit to make me push through that first part. Thanks for encouraging me to keep going.

Kim Well I was not reading it this whole time. I put it away for several months and picked it back up a couple days ago but then almost quit a couple times again...

Zeek I havent read a KA in like- forever- but nothing interesting to read mad me cave. Ugh. i'm over 50% in but I'm not sure I can take much more. Yes, it definately gets better after all the beggin for butt secks ::insert roll eyes:: and OMG through most of this I'm like, why are they attracted to each other, there is literally not depth beside the fact he takes care of her and the boys needs up until now?? I dunno if I can hang...

Zeek and I'm not sure if I can get over his abuse after his neighbor died. :/

I almost quit this book many time but I ended up really loving him and the story does finally get depth, which helped me really like their love story; but the over-the/top sex and the way she casually talked with her boys about their and her sex life gave me major issues. I still enjoyed the story when it was all said and done. But it’s obvious KA is not long the KA we first fell in love with. Her books have changed. She seems more about the kinky sex and less about the heart-and-soul.

I totally understand, Kim.

yes their was no heat to the beginning chapters as far as I'm concerned although it certainly wasnt tame sex she was writing. I was just like "meh" about it all. and then the givin him full access to the backdoor play like "oh what a romantic gift I'm giving you! ::starry eyes heart heart::" I just had to smh and say "whatever" and move on. Well. I'm sure I'll finish it eventually but for now I'm setting it down.

Totally understandable. I think many KA fan, myself included, will always love her older work and will reread them when they want a good love story but will probably pass on her newer work. This book worked for me but I DNF two of her other newer releases. Oh well, few things lasts forever. Still, I love her for the years of good romance books she gave me to escape into.

Zeek Thanks like I said, I may get back to it because I did see a change after about 50% in. Yeah some of her books I really loved and it used to be that only a few really went south for me. Now the ratio is reversed unfortunately. :/

Oh and one more irritating thing in this book= "kick-ass" as an adjective. everything she or he had and did was kick-ass. kick-ass shoes, kick-hair, kick-ass necklace. UUGGGHH _
