Jinpu (陣風, Jinpū?, lit. Gale), also known as Tornado, is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is an ability most commonly associated with the Samurai job, originally appearing in Final Fantasy X as the final Overdrive for Auron.
A unique version known as Tachi: Jinpu (五之太刀・陣風, Gono Tachi・Jinpū?, lit. Fifth Sword・Gale) appears as a great katana weaponskill in Final Fantasy XI, which also serves as a Limit Break-esque ability for the character Ayame.
In the more recent appearances the ability is localized as "Jinpu". "Tornado" is only used for Auron's version in cameo appearances for consistency.

Tornado is a unique Soul Break for Auron. It is obtained via Warblade (X). This burst soul break deals six physical fire and non-elemental attacks to all enemies, temporarily infuses Auron with the power of fire, and grants him Haste and Burst Mode. Mastering the soul break gives Auron a permanent +10 to his Attack stat.
His two abilities in Burst Mode are:
- Incandescence: Deal four physical fire and non-elemental attacks to one target.
- Crimson Lotus: Deal two physical fire and non-elemental attacks to one target, temporarily lower the user's Defense a moderate amount, and raise their Attack a moderate amount.
An improved version exists as an Arcane Dyad Soul Break: Apex Tornado. This variation functions differently than the original. It has two uses, which are triggered as separate actions. The first trigger instantly grants the user Arcane Dyad Empowered Auron, temporarily grants the user Empowered Infusion for fire, and temporarily increases the user's Cap Break Level by 1. The first use does not deplete the Soul Break Gauge. The second use unleashes an attack that deals twenty physical fire and non-elemental attacks to one enemy, followed by an additional physical fire and non-elemental attack that can break the damage cap, and removes Arcane Dyad Empowered Auron.
Arcane Dyad Empowered Auron: Increase the damage and Cap Break Level of Apex Tornado, depending on the amount of damage dealt by the user while Arcane Dyad Empowered Auron is active (up to rank 2).
Honing the Soul Break will provide further benefits.
