Here's your quick overview of what has been happening around Wikidata over the last week.
  • Development
    • Entity Schemas now have syntax highlighting for viewing (phab:T238831, example)
    • Reviewing a patch that will make it possible to use templates on d:MediaWiki:Wikibase-SortedProperties. This will for example make it possible to show labels automatically for each Property ID. Thanks, Luca! (phab:T280787)
    • Evaluated the interviews and other research we did around improvements for lexicographical data
    • Worked on/fixed small remaining bugs in the Query Builder (phab:T280505, phab:T279928, phab:T279945)
    • Continuing to work on evaluating and addressing scaling issues of the Query Service
    • Provided input to a research team working on a potential new and improved Property Suggester
    • Wikibase: we are completing the final tasks necessary to prepare the Wikibase Spring release and expect to publish new versions of the tarball and Docker images on or before May 15, 2021

Hi FULBERT! I saw that you correctly reverted this edit to Philips van Almonde, but you didn't leave the IP user a warning for the vandalism. It's important to make sure that you remember to do this. This way, we communicate to users asking them to stop the behavior, and it helps justify a block for repeat offenders when it becomes needed. Please let me know if you have any questions or need help, and I'll be happy to lend a hand. You're welcome! To answer your question: absolutely. It communicates to the user about the behavior, tells them that it's disruptive, and asks them to stop. If anything, it helps justify a block for repeat offenders. It doesn't give them the ability to come at us saying, "I wasn't told to stop!", "I didn't know that I was doing anything wrong!", "This is an unjustified block!", or something similar. It makes the job of admins easier when they see that repeated warnings have been given to the user and to no avail. If you don't have Twinkle enabled, it makes it super easy to warn users. Many recent changes patrolling programs and scripts will also do it for you. ;-) Please let me know if you have any more questions or need my input with anything else, and I'll be happy to help.
