WizTech

WizTech is the wizarding school that Justin, Alex, and Max Russo occasionally attend in Wizards of Waverly Place. Justin applied for WizTech and got accepted to go there for summer school.

When Alex got in trouble for using magic, Justin accidentally gave Jerry and Theresa the idea to send Alex too. Students at the school have to wear cloaks and glasses, reminiscent of the wardrobe in Harry Potter. Justin was promoted to headmaster of WizTech after the wizard competition because Professor Crumbs was retiring.

Students[]

• Hugh Normous thinks he is in a giant family, but finds out that he has been adopted by giants. His foster parents give him tiny things so his self-esteem doesn't get bruised. Alex and Hugh are friends, but she doesn't want to admit it at first.
• Jerko Phoenix is a champion 12-Ball player, therefore also Justin's rival. He wears an eyepatch only to keep him from wearing the Harry Potter-style glasses. His name is a parody of Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter's rival at Hogwarts.
• Ronald Longcape Jr. is an evil student who wants himself and his father to take over WizTech. He tries to become the most powerful wizard, but he is thwarted by the power of true love.

Teachers[]

• Headmaster/Professor Crumbs (retired in 2012) was the headmaster of the school, and someone who Justin looks up to and respects. He is a reference to Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster at Hogwarts in Harry Potter.
• Dr. Evilini (fired in 2007) is an evil wizard who tried to take Justin's powers for her own, but was thwarted when Alex put the truth spell on her.
• Professor Maloney is a unseen teacher who somehow defeated Professor Crumbs in a "beard contest."
• Headmaster Russo (hired in 2012) is the newest headmaster of WizTech. Professor Crumbs offered him the job after the Russo Family Wizard Competition.

Trivia[]

• The students wear spectacles similar to Harry Potter's. Alex comments, "With those glasses and robe you remind me of someone. Gary... Larry... Barry", when she was obviously referring to Harry Potter.
• WizTech may be a reference to Hogwarts School of Wizardry from the Harry Potter series, as well as to Greenwich Villiage-based NYU's partner school PolyTech (now the Tandon School of Engineering)
