Star Wars: A New Beginning is an upcoming American space opera film. It is being directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
Synopsis[]
The film is set 15 years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker as Rey rebuilds the Jedi Order.[1]

On March 14, 2022, it was reported that Damon Lindelof was writing a brand new Star Wars feature film.[2]
On October 24, 2022, Deadline reported that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy was set to direct the film.[3]
Later that day, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Justin Britt-Gibson would co-write the screenplay, and that the film would take place after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.[4]
On June 22, 2023, it was revealed that the title of the film was Star Wars: New Jedi Order, and that filming is scheduled to begin in April 2024 in Buckinghamshire, England, with a December 18, 2026 release date.[5]
On February 28, 2024, it was reported that the film had been retitled to Star Wars: A New Beginning, with the working title being "New Jedi Order".[6]
On October 25, 2024, it was reported that Steven Knight had left the project, and that the film was unlikely to be released in 2026.[7]
