"Planet Claire" is a song by the American new wave band The B-52's, released as the second single from their self-titled debut album in 1979. The song is based on the Peter Gunn theme by Henry Mancini, and features lyrics about a woman who comes from a planet with pink air and red trees.
The song was featured in the 2022 film Hocus Pocus 2, a sequel to the 1993 cult classic Hocus Pocus. The film follows the Sanderson Sisters, three witches who are resurrected by three teenage girls in modern-day Salem, Massachusetts. The song plays during a scene in which the sisters visit a Walgreens store, where they are fascinated by the products and technology they encounter.
Lyrics[]
She came from Planet Claire
I knew she came from there
She drove a Plymouth Satellite
Oh, faster than the speed of light
Planet Claire has pink air
All the trees are red
No one ever dies there
No one has a head
Some say she's from Mars
Or one of the seven stars
That shine after 3:30 in the morning
Well, she isn't
She came from Planet Claire
She came from Planet Claire
She came from Planet Claire
