David John McDonald, known professionally as David Tennant, is a Scottish actor, who is best known for his roles as Giacomo Casanova in the 2005 BBC3 comedy-drama serial Casanova, as well as the tenth incarnation of the Doctor in the iconic BBC1 sci-fi series Doctor Who (between June 2005 and January 2010, plus the 50th anniversary special The Day of the Doctor in 2013). His three seasons as the Doctor aired in the U.S. on Disney XD. The character was also parodied in The Muppets Take the O2, in which Kermit appeared dressed as the Tenth Doctor, with Tennant himself appearing as the character during the July 13 performance. He later returned to the Doctor Who series as the Fourteenth Doctor in three special episodes co-produced by Disney and aired on Disney+, where he "bi-generated" into his fifteenth incarnation.
Tennant has also appeared in several Broadway stage productions of Shakespearean plays, most notably Hamlet. Additionally, he played Barty Crouch, Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and voiced Spitelout Jorgenson in DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon franchise (along with also voicing Ivar the Witless in How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World) and Angus in the 2017 Blue Sky Studios film Ferdinand.
For Disney, he voiced Oscar's Brain in the Fish Hooks episode "Live at the Hamsterwood Bowl", Dread the Evil Genie in Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Igor the Door in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Huyang in the Star Wars franchise, and Scrooge McDuck in the DuckTales reboot series, a role he reprised in the 2022 hybrid film Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. He also portrayed Kilgrave in the Marvel/Netflix show Jessica Jones, Peter Vincent in Fright Night, and will play Lord Tony Baddingham in the Disney+ series Rivals. Additionally, he voices Franklin in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.

- In 2008, Tennant was voted "Greenest Star on the Planet" in an online vote held by Playhouse Disney as part of the Playing for the Planet Awards.
