Fantasy Springs

Fantasy Springs^[1] is a themed-land at Tokyo DisneySea that is inspired by a magical spring leading to a world of Disney fantasy which is similar to Fantasyland. The themed port is comprised of three distinct areas recreating the worlds of the Disney films: Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan, as well as a deluxe hotel with a one-of-a-kind luxury wing that is the most luxurious accommodations ever at Tokyo Disney Resort.^[2]

Originally planned to open in 2023 as part of the resort's 40th anniversary celebration, the expansion opened on June 6, 2024. It is located along a pathway between Arabian Coast and Lost River Delta, though guests of the new hotel are able to have a direct access to the new lands.

History[]

On April 29, 2015, Oriental Land Company revealed the theme for the eighth port in development at Tokyo DisneySea under the name Scandinavia^[3] with a portion of the area located in the south of Lost River Delta. It was scheduled to open in 2020 but ended up being cancelled in favor of another project, and the company decided to prioritize the construction of Soaring: Fantastic Flight instead.^[4] However, it was later announced that the expansion would still be built under a different name with new attractions, shops and restaurants. The Oriental Land Company also stated during the announcement that the overall size and scale of the port would be about the same size as the Arabian Coast.

On June 14, 2018, Tokyo Disney Resort announced an expansion for Tokyo DisneySea in 2022, bringing in an eighth port highlighting the films: Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan. A new deluxe hotel with a one-of-a-kind luxury wing is connected to the port.,^[5] inspired by myths and legends of the sea, the new port is themed around magical springs that lead to a World of Disney Fantasy, and it includes four new attractions.^[6]

Areas[]

Fantasy Springs is entered through an enchanted waterfall grotto where the stone takes on the form of different Disney characters, carved by the spirit of the enchanted spring. Dramatic lighting changes the character of the entrance at night.

Frozen Kingdom[]

Main article: World of Frozen

In this time of happily-ever-after, peace and prosperity have returned to the kingdom of Arendelle, which is set in after the events of the film. Elsa has now embraced her magical ice powers, and she and Anna have created a Summer Snow Day for the merriment of the kingdom.

Home to two attractions and a restaurant, the Neverland area features landmarks that make that fantastical world so memorable, including verdant mountains, The Jolly Roger and Skull Rock, similar to displays found in Adventure Isle at Disneyland Paris and the former Captain Hook's Galley at Disneyland.
