Maiel is a mentioned character in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. He was never seen, but was given the important task of engaging Ike's Greil Mercenaries and the Laguz Alliance forces as a distraction so that Micaiah and the Daein Army could ambush Begnion's Holy Guard and the Crimean Army at the bottom of a valley in southern Daein. At the end of the chapter, the player learns that he was killed in battle, which allowed Tibarn to rush in and prevent the Apostle's assassination by taking Sothe as a hostage.
