Adrah is a background character in the Archanea Series. He is the founder of the Kingdom of Archanea.
Profile[]
Originally, Adrah was a thief who stole the Binding Shield from the Fane of Raman, took the gemstones off it, and sold them, unknowingly weakening it. Using the funds gained from selling the orbs, he raised an army and used it as well as three stolen weapons — the lance Gradivus, the sword Mercurius, and the bow Parthia — to conquer the world and found the kingdom of Archanea. Since the shield had given him such good fortune, he made it the emblem of the royal family, and it was renamed the Fire Emblem. Adrah's actions may be the reason that the Fire Emblem became cursed.
In Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Adrah is briefly mentioned in the opening narration for Chapter 12.
Adrah's secret past was discussed by Gotoh in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, but the reference was removed in the DS remake.
Other Appearances[]
In the Thracia 776 novelization, it is revealed Lifis the thief is the same person as Adrah, having traveled to Archanea and changed his name. This is impossible to reconcile with the canon of the games, as the founding of Archanea is set roughly hundreds of years after the events of Thracia 776.
Trivia[]
- While since corrected, Medeus's Meet Some of the Heroes guide from Fire Emblem Heroes once stated that Adrah stealing the Binding Shield was what caused Medeus to turn against humanity, contrary to lore in Mystery of the Emblem. The artwork accompanying profile depicts an Axe-wielding human attacking Medeus, implying this human is meant to be a depiction of Adrah.
