Wikimedia UK and Wikimedia Medicine are creating a joint initiative to help tackle the issues around information about COVID-19 on Wikipedia, and we need your help.
The are hundreds of articles related to the pandemic, from pages detailing the outbreak in specific areas to the impact of the pandemic on aspects of society such as education. This is a a huge resource to maintain and we are looking for editors to help out. The main articles on the pandemic, the condition, and the virus have lots of editors curating them and we want to use our experience and efforts to focus on the other articles.
Whether you can spare ten minutes from your regular editing or want to divert your efforts to this area, we want as much help as we can gather. We will be using this page to coordinate efforts and share resources.
Open tasks
[edit]More suggestions will be added here, but at the moment articles in Category:COVID-19 pandemic need factchecking.
OpenStreetMap
[edit]Our friends at OSM-UK have a project to to add medical facilities (pharmacies, GPs, dentists, hospitals - including the new Nightingales, and field hospitals) to their map of the UK. You can halp, either directly, or indirectly by adding images (from your archives, or freely-licensed online resources - don't go out!) of such places to Wikimedia Commons.
