Weatherby is a character in the 2003 Disney live-action film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Background[]
During his duty as one of Captain Barbossa's crewmen, Weatherby became cursed upon taking the treasure of Hernán Cortés from Isla de Muerta and spent the next nine years in taking the treasure to lift the curse.
Appearances[]
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl[]
As the Black Pearl raids Port Royal, Weatherby joined the raid with Pintel and Ragetti where they raided the governor's mansion. He made an evil grin when Pintel shot the mansion's butler while Weatherby later chased one of the maids inside as his other crewmates began to seek for the treasure. He is later present during destruction of the HMS Interceptor battle between the motley crew and the cursed crew to which the motley crew managed to escape from the cursed crew's forces.
Like most of the crewmen part of the Cursed Crew, Weatherby and the rest of the crewmen fought against the British Royal Navy during a battle against James Norrington and his men during the battle at Isla de Muerta. However, Weatherby later surrendered with the other pirates upon noticing Koehler dead during the battle after the curse was lifted with Hector Barbossa defeated. In the aftermath, it is unknown what happened to Weatherby after this.
