Victor Timely is a Marvel Comics character who was introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and later reappeared as a major character in the second season of Loki. He is a man who became a time scientist after receiving a copy of the TVA's handbook by Ravonna Renslayer and Miss Minutes. He went on to create early prototypes for many of the TVA's devices, such as the Time Stick, and played a critical role in attempting to expand the rings of the Temporal Loom.
Victor Timely was created by Peter Sanderson and Rich Yanizeski.
Background[]
While making candles, a young Victor Timely in 1868 Chicago heard an item dropping near his window. Investigating the noise, he found a book called the Time Variance Authority Official Handbook, which was anonymously delivered by Ravonna Renslayer and Miss Minutes. This created a nexus event, which lead him down the path of being a time scientist, and as he got older, he created several early prototypes of TVA devices from scratch, such as the Time Stick and Temporal Loom. He later moved from Chicago to Wisconsin, later saying the reason so was because the taxes were lower. Timely also built a lab there, though he continued to sale his products in Chicago due to its vast population, while also temporarily living in an apartment there while doing sales.
Physical appearance[]
Victor Timely is a middle-aged African American man with black hair, which has slight gray streaks. He also has a black mustache, glasses, and bears a resemblance to Kang the Conqueror, due to him being one of the many Variants of him. He also speaks with a stutter.

At the Chicago World's Fair in 1983, Timely showcased an early prototype of the Temporal Loom, which he claimed was able to turn time into energy. Loki and Mobius were in the crowd, with Loki stating that Timely was a dangerous man. It is later revealed that this scene is a cut-down clip from an episode of the second season of Loki.
Loki[]
Twenty-five years after receiving the TVA's handbook, Timely decided to showcase an early prototype of a device called the Temporal Loom which turned time into energy at the 1893 World's Fair, which was held in Chicago. After Ravonna and Miss Minutes delivered the handbook to Timely, they traveled to 1893 to complete He Who Remains's plan. Loki and Mobius, who also traveled back in time, also saw a poster advertising the show, and decided to attend, as they recognized the Temporal Loom.
Timely began the show on a dark stage, and the lights turned on just as he was finishing his speech, which revealed the early prototype of the Temporal Loom. Timely turned on the Loom, showcasing its abilities and saying it could light the world. After the show, Ravonna starts to speak to Timely, though he was interrupted by a man named the Robber Baron, and Timely said he had multiple investors for the Loom. Another man named Guy Pennyman III offered to buy the machine, which caused Robber Baron to also want to purchase it. After a tense bidding war, Timely took the Robber Baron's offer and was paid in cash.
After the deal, Timely was again approached by Ravonna, and later Loki and Mobius. His attention was soon diverted, as he was interrogated by a councilman about an invention of Timely's he bought, though Timely told him he would check the settings the following week. After this confrontation, Loki concluded that Timely was a con man, and suddenly the Robber Baron began to chase Timely, telling him his Loom was a scam. Horrified, Timely began to run as the Robber Baron chased him. Soon Loki and Mobius also began to chase him, due to them needing his temporal aura to fix the TVA's Temporal Loom. Timely was able to outrun the Robber Baron, seeking refuge on a Ferris wheel, though Loki decided to slip in after seeing Sylvie, who had the intent of killing Timely. Inside the Ferris wheel, Sylvie attempted to stab Timely multiple times unsuccessfully, as she was stopped by Loki.
After escaping off the Ferris wheel, he was met by Ravonna, and suddenly Miss Minutes came out of her bag as the infamous Ghost-Clock, allowing them to escape to his apartment.
At his apartment, Ravonna began to tell Timely about the TVA, and how Loki and Mobius were bad people. During this conversation, the Robber Baron and his thugs were able to relocate Timely and began trying to break into his residence. Loki and Mobius also appeared, though Timely, Ravonna, and Miss Minutes were able to board a boat on the way to Wisconsin, where a prototype of Timely's was.
While on this boat, Miss Minutes was able to convince Timely that Ravonna was looking for a partnership, which he despised. Because of this, he put Ravonna into a lifeboat and dropped her into Lake Michigan.
Timely and Miss Minutes were able to retrieve his prototype, though while he was doing so, Miss Minutes began to reveal to Timely that she craved a body, and freaked out, Timely was able to retract her. Ravonna suddenly appeared, with a working prototype with a Time Stick, and began threatening Timely with it. Fortunately for Timely, Loki and Mobius rushed in and began to stop Ravonna. Unfortunately for Timely, Sylvie appeared and was ready to kill Timely. Timely begged for his life, saying that he was capable of free will, and Sylvie let him go.
Loki and Mobius then opened a Time Door to the TVA, which led to the War Room. Loki and Mobius tried to urge him to work on the Temporal Loom, though he did not trust them after being lied to by Ravonna. A power surge then hit the building, and Timely finally agreed to help.
Loki and Mobius led him down into Repairs and Advancement, where he met Ouroboros, the author of the TVA's handbook, and told him he was inspired by his work. Ouroboros then told Timely he was inspired by his work, and they both asked for autographs from each other, though they were stopped by Sylvie. Ouroboros and another worker named Casey explained their plan to expand the rings of the Loom to Timely, and he began to help them.
After finishing work on the Throughput Multiplier, Mobius entered the room with hot chocolate. Timely asked where he had gotten it from, and Mobius said he got it from the hot chocolate machine. Timely, along with Hunter D-90, went to the machine. After taking a sip, Timely offered it to Hunter D-90. D-90 took a sip and immediately was pruned by Hunter X-5. X-5 then kidnapped Timely and brought him to the War Room, where Ravonna and Miss Minutes were waiting.
They interrogated Timely on his knowledge of the Loom and Throughput Multiplier, and after being threatened, Timely began to tell them what he knew, though X-5 said he was stalling. Suddenly, the lights went off and Timely was rescued by Loki and Sylvie and rushed to the room containing the Temporal Loom.
Loki originally offered to be the one that would expand the Loom, though Timely offered instead, saying that he knew the Loom better than anyone else, being the one who created it. Loki agreed, and Timely suited up, and waited for the blast doors to open. When they did, Timely ran as fast as he could, though he was killed by the extreme temporal radiation.
After being killed, the Loom exploded, causing a Temporal Meltdown, which caused all of the branching timelines to die. However, Loki was able to go back in time to right before Timely died and tried countless different times to prevent Timely from dying, though each time he failed. However, after Loki spent centuries studying mechanics, he was able to get Timely suited up fast enough to expand the rings of the Loom. After Timely returned, everyone was relieved, though despite their success, the Loom continued to break down. Timely realized that it was due to a scaling issue: no matter how big the rings of the Loom were, it would always explode due to the infinite amount of branches being created. The Loom then exploded, and Timely apologized to Loki before all Variants of branched timelines were wiped out.
Loki then traveled back in time yet again, though instead of Timely fixing the Loom, Loki went, where he destroyed it, and became the god of the Multiverse. Loki's decision saved the lives of those on branched timelines, including Timely. Timely then went on to co-write a new edition of the TVA handbook, along with Ouroboros.
