"The Wizard of Dizz" is a special from the fourth season of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It is based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum and was released on DVD on June 11, 2013, along with two other Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes "The Golden Boo-Boo" and "Goofy's Gone", ten episodes of Minnie's Bow-Toons, and a free download of the Minnie's Bow Maker digital book application. The episode itself made its TV premiere on September 20, 2013. It is the one hundred and fourth episode in the series, and the fifth episode in the fourth season.

Synopsis[]

Minnie and Pluto were caught in a huge gust of wind, and suddenly found themselves in the wacky and wonderful Land of Dizz. It was a breathtaking place, full of multicolored trees, butterfly-shaped bows ,and amiable "Chipmunchkins". However, Minnie yearned to return home. So, she teamed up with Scarecrow Goofy, Mickey the Tin Mouse, and Donald the Lion, set off to ask the wonderful Wizard of the City of handy helpers to make their dreams come true. But they must be careful! Sneaky Witch Pete wants Minnie's magical, sparkling green shoes, and he's got a few tricks up his sleeve.

Plot[]

Decorating for Clubhouse Day[]

The special starts with Mickey Mouse tying a blue balloon. He is startled when he sees the viewers causing him to let go of the balloon. Mickey says hello to the viewers and tells them he has been working hard decorating the clubhouse all day. He tells everyone that today is Clubhouse Day. On the banner, there is a message with an image of the clubhouse friends, a heart, and the clubhouse. The message on the banner means, "All the friends love the clubhouse", which is why everyone is coming over to celebrate Clubhouse Day.

Maybe Minnie Could Help[]

There is so much more of the clubhouse that still needs to be decorated, so Mickey thinks Minnie can help finish decorating, but she can't since she's making a special cake for the party. Mickey goes to the kitchen to take a peek at the cake, but Minnie is not in the kitchen. Just then, Minnie arrives at the door and says hello to Mickey. Minnie asks Mickey what is all of this and Mickey tells her it is Clubhouse Day today.

Everyone Arrives to Celebrate Clubhouse Day[]

A handy helper opens the door and it is windy outside. Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Clarabelle Cow, Pete, and Toodles arrive. Everyone is right on time to help decorate for the Clubhouse Day party. Toodles brought a tablecloth with darker pink polka dots. Goofy says everybody is here while eating popcorn, but Minnie didn't make a cake for the party because she forgot about Clubhouse Day and Mickey, Daisy, and Clarabelle comfort her.

A Big Whirling Wind is Coming![]

Suddenly, the door bursts open and wind flies inside, blowing Goofy's popcorn out of the container and putting it back in it. Mickey forcefully closes the door so more wind doesn't come in. Ludwig Von Drake appears on the Mousekedoer screen to warn everyone about the great big whirling wind coming. He tells everyone that they will all be safe in the basement. Everyone goes down the basement except for Mickey, Minnie and Pluto. The door opens again and more wind blows in, carrying leaves and Minnie's bow. Pluto chases after it, going outside. Pluto catches Minnie's bow, but the little wind tangles his ears and Pluto's ears untangle themselves. Mickey goes outside and sees a big tornado outside. As Minnie puts her bow back on, Mickey tells Minnie to hurry up and come down to the basement, but Minnie tells Mickey the wind is too strong and she and Pluto will be safe inside the shoe garage. Mickey warns them to be careful as he enters the clubhouse and forcefully closes the door again.

Going to the Land of Dizz[]

Minnie and Pluto go inside the shoe garage and hide in it so they can be safe from the tornado, but the wind forces the door open and goes inside the shoe garage. Minnie and Pluto are worried as they hide under a shelf and Minnie hugs Pluto tightly. As the giant tornado approaches, it spins around the shoe garage and carries the garage with it. Minnie is wearing a blue dress instead of her usual pink dress. Minnie and Pluto safely land, and Minnie asks Pluto if he is alright. Minnie hopes everything is okay at the clubhouse, and the shoe garage opens to reveal a bright, colorful and magical world with multicolor trees, butterfly bows, and other magical things. It turns out they are not at the clubhouse anymore. Minnie and Pluto exit the shoe garage and Minnie goes over to a tree and tries to touch a butterfly bow, but they fly away. Minnie says this place is really silly.

Minnie's Magic Shoes[]

Clarabelle Cow then arrives via a rainbow and reveals herself to be Good Witch Clarabelle. Minnie and Pluto introduce themselves and Minnie is confused as to where they are. Clarabelle also doesn't know, but the Chipmunchkins appear and state they're in the Land of Dizz. Minnie and Pluto tell them that they're from the Clubhouse and she misses her friends there. Clarabelle knows just the thing for Minnie and Pluto to get back home. She then changes Minnie's slippers to emerald ones. Minnie wonders how the new shoes will get back to the clubhouse. Clarabelle states she knows they do something because they are magic shoes. Witch Pete then arrives, having overheard the magic shoes, which he wants. Pete asks Minnie to give the shoes to him, but Clarabelle rejects the idea. However, Pete uses his hat to cast a spell to get him the shoes, only for Clarabelle to trap him in a bubble, which carries him away. The bubble eventually pops, dropping Pete to the ground.

Going to See the Amazing Wizard of Dizz[]

Clarabelle doesn't remember what the emerald shoes do, but states there is someone in the Land of Dizz who knows everything: the Wizard of Dizz, who is an amazing wizard who lives in the City of Handy Helpers. Minnie asks for help from the viewers for her and Pluto to find the Wizard of Dizz so that they can get back home to the Clubhouse. Clarabelle then gives Minnie some Mouseketools from the Mouseke-dizz. Woodles then appears, reminding Minnie of Toodles from the Clubhouse. Minnie and Pluto then pick up the Mouseketools: a pink beach towel, three colorful turtles, a pogo stick, and the Mystery Mouseketool. Clarabelle wishes Minnie and Pluto a safe trip to meet the Wizard of Dizz and warns them of With Pete before leaving. Minnie and Pluto take advice from the Chipmunchkins to follow the pink polka-dotted path to the Wizard of Dizz.

Meet Scarecrow Goofy[]

During their journey, Minnie and Pluto come across popping popcorn from corn. Pluto sees something and Minnie tells him it's only a scarecrow. Scarecrow Goofy then greets Minnie and Pluto, and states what he can do. Goofy is stuck on a pole and Minnie can't reach him as he is too high. So, they call Woodles and pick the pogo stick so Minnie can reach and free Goofy from the pole. Scarecrow Goofy introduces himself to Minnie and Pluto, who are on their way to the City of Handy Helpers to ask the Wizard of Dizz to help them get back home to the clubhouse. Goofy doesn't know anything Minnie says, as his head's all stuffed with straw instead of brains. Goofy mentions the different things he would know if he wasn't so goofy and if he had a brain. Goofy then decides to along with Minnie and Pluto so that the Wizard of Dizz could help him, too.

Meet Mickey the Tin Mouse[]

They then come across giant colorful trees and bushes. They then hear Mickey the Tin Mouse struggling to move. Minnie uses his key to wind him like a toy so he can move again. Mickey the Tin Mouse introduces himself, as does Minnie, Pluto and Scarecrow Goofy. They are on their way to the City of Handy Helpers to meet the Wizard of Dizz so Minnie and Pluto can get home to the clubhouse and Goofy can get a brain. Mickey hopes he had something that kept him going all the time, which is a heart. Mickey states what he would do if he didn't need a key and if he had a heart. He then joins Minnie, Pluto and Scarecrow Goofy on their journey to the City of Handy Helpers.

Meet Donald the Lion[]

Once they're in a jungle, they hear and see Donald the Lion roaring at some frogs, as he wants to be king of the jungle. Donald has no luck doing so. He then introduces himself to Minnie and the others. The others call him a funny lion, Donald states what he would do if he were king of the jungle. Mickey the Tin Mouse tells him that the Wizard of Dizz can help him, as well. Donald the Lion joins everyone on their journey.

Going to the City of Handy Helpers[]

During the journey, Witch Pete calls Coco the monkey and tells him that he plans to cast an amazing spell to get the magic shoes with Coco helping. Pete uses his hat to make a whirlwind that makes a river appear, blocking the path. Minnie notices that Bad Witch Pete did so. He plans for Minnie to get the shoes off so they don't get wet when she crosses the water before Coco fetches them. To get across the river, Minnie calls Woodles for a Mouseketool. The turtles are picked, as they can be used to jump from shell to shell. Everyone then uses the turtles to head across the river. Pete is mad his plan didn't work and decides to think of another plan to get the shoes. Coco wags his tail at Pete's nose. Pete stops himself from sneezing just in time; if he did so, he would lose all of his magic power. Meanwhile, Minnie and the others arrive at the City of Handy Helpers.

Meeting the Wizard of Dizz[]

Once inside, they wonder where the Wizard of Dizz is. He then appears via a machine and Minnie introduces herself, stating she came for everyone's help getting what they want. The Wizard will help them if they prove their courage and meet their challenge, which is to bring Witch Pete's hat to him, although the others don't like it. Without the magic power of Witch Pete's hat, he can't be a bad and sneaky witch anymore. Minnie and the others decide to go to Witch Pete's castle and ask him for his hat.

Getting Witch Pete's Hat[]

They eventually come across flying monkeys that take them to the castle. Once there, Pete greets them and likes the emerald shoes. Minnie states she will give them to Pete as long as she can borrow his hat. Pete says there is a deal. Minnie tells him to take a few steps but only if he promises to give them back to her. However, Pete immediately breaks the promise. Minnie tells Pete that he is a bad and sneaky witch. So, everyone calls Woodles for another Mouseketool. They pick the Mystery Mouseketool, which is a pillow. Pete notices feathers inside and they make him sneeze. So, Pete gets the pillow. Scarecrow Goofy tries to get it back. During the tug-of-war, the pillow breaks, releasing the feathers and causing Pete to sneeze, losing his magic power. He states that he only had magic power while he was alone in his tower, but now he has nothing. Pete apologizes for being so sneaky and taking Minnie's magic shoes and promises to be good from now on. Minnie then gets her shoes back. Minnie decides for Pete to come along as the Wizard of Dizz could help him as well.

Minnie and Pluto Go Back to the Clubhouse[]

Everyone then heads back to the City of Handy Helpers with the hat the Wizard of Dizz was looking for. Pete states that he came to get his magic power back, so he could be a good witch and help his friends. The Wizard of Dizz then gives everyone what he promised to give them. Meanwhile, Pluto finds him behind a curtain. The Wizard of Dizz then reveals himself to everyone and states he was playing make-believe. He is not a wizard with the magic, but he is a very clever genius who invents things. He then gives everyone what they want because he is the amazing Wizard of Dizz. He gives Scarecrow Goofy a thinking cap for him, Mickey the Tin Mouse a battery shaped like a heart and Donald the Lion a golden crown fitting for a king of the jungle.

As for Witch Pete, he is given a special key where he will find the friends he'll need. Pete notices it as the key to the City of Handy Helpers. He then gives everyone a group hug, as they're the best friends he could hope for. As for Minnie and Pluto, Minnie shows the Wizard of Dizz the emerald shoes. He doesn't know them, but tells Minnie that to get back to the clubhouse, she and Pluto will need to cross over a great desert because when he first arrived in the Land of Dizz, he flew over that desert in a glove balloon. The Wizard of Dizz then shows everyone the glove balloon.

The Wizard of Dizz notices a hole in the pinky finger. Everyone then calls Woodles and uses the pink beach towel, which is the last mouseketool, to patch the glove balloon and fix it. Good Witch Clarabelle then returns and notices what she is seeing. As Minnie prepares to take the glove balloon back to the clubhouse, Pluto is too busy chasing a flying Handy Helper. Minnie eventually gets him, but when they return, the glove balloon flies away and it can't be stopped.

Minnie and Pluto are full of despair, as they will never see their clubhouse friends again. Good Witch Clarabelle has some good news. She finally remembered what she forgot to remember about the emerald shoes: all Minnie needs to do is make a wish and tap a little dance, and the shoes will take her wherever she wants to go. Although Minnie will miss all of her new friends, she will always be in their hearts. Minnie thanks everyone and she will never forget them. Minnie and Pluto then head up and wish they could go back home to the clubhouse. Minnie then taps the dance, and she and Pluto return to the clubhouse.

Celebrating Clubhouse Day[]

It is then revealed that Minnie has been dreaming in the shoe garage and the others were worried about her. Minnie states she's fine and Pluto arrives. When everyone arrives back at the clubhouse, the group reveals that they made Minnie's special cake using her recipe. Minnie thanks everyone for the help, as there's nothing like having friends at the clubhouse, as it is the best place to be to make new friends. Daisy then notices Minnie's magic shoes from the Land of Dizz. This implies the adventure wasn't a dream at all. Minnie thanks the viewers for helping Pluto and her get back for Clubhouse Day. Everyone then does the Hot Dog Dance with Minnie inviting the viewers to join the dance. Upon finishing the Hot Dog Dance and leaving the clubhouse, the clubhouse disappears and Mickey says goodbye to the viewers.

Roles[]

Mouseketools[]

  • A beach towel
  • Three turtles
  • A pogo stick
  • A pillow (Mystery Mouseketool)

Trivia[]

  • This special was on DVD that came out on June 11, which was three months before the premiere on television.
  • This is the first episode in which Minnie dreams. The second being "Minnie-rella".
  • Although Toodles appears in the beginning while setting up the "Clubhouse Party" with everyone else, he doesn't show up in the finale song after Minnie returns home before the Hot Dog Dance starts.
  • In the Disney Jr. TV airing before the special begins, instead of the regular Coming Up and Now bumpers, a different set of Coming Up and Now bumpers were made for this special.
  • Pete doesn't melt like the Wicked Witch of the West does, due to today's squeaky clean standards. He did, however, parody "I'm melting!" in a previous episode (where he coincidentally also played a witch) as "I'm shrinking!" when he accidentally pours his shrinking potion on him.
  • Ludwig Von Drake breaks the fourth wall during the end of his song, saying "not you." to the audience, likely telling the viewers they are not the wizard.
  • This is the second time where a clubhouse piece comes off of its place. That's the shoe garage of course, the first being Mickey's Great Clubhouse Hunt.
  • This special was produced in 2012, according to the credits.
  • When Minnie was about to call Woodles for the pogo stick to get Scarecrow Goofy down, she almost called Toodles due to the fact that she is used to saying "Oh toodles!" A similar thing happened with Goofy and Donald when they accidentally called for a Mouseketool in "A Goofy Fairy Tale".

Goofs/Errors[]

  • Pete is sexually male, so he is technically a warlock, not a witch.
  • Ludwig Von Drake said that the hole on the Glove Balloon was on its pinky finger, which was patched up with the beach towel. However, when the Glove Balloon was deflated, the hole was on its thumb.
