Courtland Jourolmon, Jr. was an American actor, singer, director, and producer, who worked on various projects for Disney ranging from his many talents, such as Tonka, Old Yeller, Follow Me, Boys!, Noah's Ark, Pete's Dragon, and the Disney anthology series, such as The Saga of Andy Burnett.
Born in Knoxville, Tennessee; Courtland attended a Hollywood party with his mother, where he met director Charles Vidor. He got a screen test and obtained a seven-year contract with Columbia Pictures and made his film debut was in the screwball comedy Together Again. After the film was completed, Courtland joined the military and was stationed in the Pacific during World War II. After the war, he returned to acting where he would appear in films, like Kiss and Tell, The Man From Colorado, Battleground, The Palomino, Tokyo Joe, The Barefoot Mailman, Take the High Ground, Café Oriental, Sunny Side of the Street, The Texas Rangers, When You're Smiling, Tharus, Son of Attila, Santa Fe, Black Spurs, and The Restless Ones. His television acting credits include The Rifleman, Death Valley Days, The Virginian, Tales of the Vikings, The Millionaire, West Point, The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, and L.A. Law. In 1951, Courtland starred on Broadway in the very short-lived musical Flahooley with Barbara Cook.
In the 1960s, Courtland quit acting and switched to producing and directing film and television productions, such as Screen Gems' The Flying Nun and Nancy, Lorimar Television's Falcon Crest and Knots Landing, and Aaron Spelling productions, like Dynasty, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, Hotel, Matt Houston, and The Colbys.
In 1997, he moved to the Chicago area, where for five years he taught acting and directing for the camera at Columbia College. He died of a heart disease in 2012.
