Good Morning, Mickey! is an animated series that aired on the Disney Channel in the 1980s. It featured classic cartoons from Walt Disney Productions, similar to Donald Duck Presents. Although Mickey Mouse shorts, without surprise, were the primary programming, additional cartoons featuring Goofy, Donald Duck, Chip and Dale, Pluto, and others were also shown.
The show premiered on April 18, 1983, at 7:00am (EST), making it the first program to ever air on The Disney Channel. Initially airing for a full hour on weekdays and a half-hour on weekends, the show as split into two half-hour "parts" in September 1983. In May 1985, the show was reduced to a single half-hour.
The credits for the show didn't name anyone. Instead, it stated "The cartoons in this program are the work of animators from WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS over the past 50 years."
In 1992, Good Morning, Mickey! was replaced with the similar Mickey's Mouse Tracks, just as how Donald Duck Presents was replaced with Donald's Quack Attack.
Good Morning, Mickey! received a spiritual successor titled Mickey Mornings, which premiered in 2020. Unlike Good Morning Mickey!, Mickey Mornings is filled to the brim with Disney Jr. programming, with Disney Junior's Mickey Mouse shows like Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures and Mickey Mouse Funhouse being the primary focus, with other Disney Junior shows thrown into the mix.
Episode list[]
Each episode generally had four classic cartoons (except for episodes #71 and #75 which instead had three classic cartoons, and episode #76 which instead had the 22-minute featurette Mickey and the Beanstalk and one classic cartoon), and each classic cartoon is presented with their original theatrical opening and closing credits cut (save for the cartoon's title and the sunburst Mickey Mouse/Donald Duck/Goofy/Pluto/Figaro/Chip and Dale opening logos), presumably due to time constraints.
All the black-and-white Mickey Mouse cartoons are presented in this show in their original black-and-white presentation, albeit with their original titles cut entirely and replaced by shortened burlap versions.
VHS release[]
This show was released on PAL VHS tapes in the UK as part of a six-volume set which also each featured an episode of Welcome to Pooh Corner, The Mouse Factory, Donald Duck Presents, and Mousercise. Each tape contained one Disney cartoon short.

In Australia, six more VHS tapes (for a total of twelve) were released containing additional shorts. Along with the six new tapes, one Christmas-themed one was also released:

- Volume Eight contains "Mail Dog"
- Volume Twelve contains "How to Be a Detective"
- The Christmas Volume contains "Toy Tinkers"
Revival[]
Although Good Morning, Mickey no longer airs on Disney Channel or its sister channels in the United States as of the 2000s, reruns of Good Morning, Mickey were still shown on television outside the United States, especially Disney Channel outside the United States.
These modern reruns differed slightly from the original 1980s airing although still airing the same cartoons; as these have a slightly altered opening with different Disney cartoon footage in the opening (albeit the theme song still plays as normal), and most of the cartoon footage used in the altered opening are new transfers from the early 1990s. Also, each episode has been remastered from their original 1980s television prints with each cartoon originally containing the altered front-and-end titles, and have the 1998 Buena Vista International logo added at the end of each episode's end credits.
