This article is about the character Cassandra from Bonkers. For other characters, see Collector (disambiguation).

The Collector is a sinister being from the show Bonkers, and the main antagonist of the two-episode pilot, "Going Bonkers". As the first villain whom Bonkers D. Bobcat and Lucky Piquel encounter, he is somewhat like Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Obscured in shadows to start, he is later revealed to be an amalgamation of various cartoon creatures. He wears gloves with pencils on the right, and sharpeners on the left, somewhat similar to Freddy Krueger's single left razor blade glove from Nightmare on Elm Street. His main hobby is having his assistant, Mr. Doodles, kidnap Toons so they can be placed in suspended animation. The Collector refers to this rather unsettling group of victims as his "collection".

At the end of the two-part episode, his right glove comes off when he attempts to wriggle out of a pair of handcuffs, revealing a five-fingered human hand underneath. In addition to this, he also is apparently capable of resisting the urge to slip on a banana peel (which Toons are inexorably compelled to do). Suspicious of these odd circumstances, Lucky pulls off The Collector's mask, revealing him to in fact be a deranged human nerd with a fanatical obsession with cartoons. Shown a reflection of his true face in a mirror by Bonkers, he begins backing away, desperately trying to convince the others (and likely himself) that he's a Toon. As he does so, he loses his balance and falls into a Toon world contained inside a large prop box. However, Bonkers assures a concerned Lucky that The Collector hadn't perished, explaining that the Toons inside "won't really hurt him". Afterwards, it is implied that he was sent to jail for his crimes. His fate beyond that is left unknown.

Trivia[]

  • The Collector is pretty much the opposite of Judge Doom in terms of its true identity. While Doom was a Toon disguised as a human, the Collector was a human disguised as a Toon. A notable difference between the two, however, is that Doom was fully aware of his true origins as he admits upon being exposed to being not only a toon, but the one responsible for Eddie Valiant's brother's death, while Collector is implied to genuinely believe he was a Toon even AFTER being unmasked.
  • He is right-handed as he is seen with the pencils on his right hand on his fingers.
  • He appeared in the Super Nintendo version of the Bonkers video game as one of the bosses. He's probably an actual toon in the game, instead of a human posing as one and he's wearing a green jacket in the game instead of blue and the lens of his glasses are white instead of red.
