See, a long time ago, there was this family.
He and his family would sing, and dance, and count their blessings.
But he also had a dream: to play for the world.
And one day he left with his guitar...
...and never returned.
She could’ve made candy...
Or fireworks...
Or sparkly underwear for wrestlers!
But no, she chose shoes.
Music had torn her family apart, but shoes held them all together.
That woman was my great-great-grandmother

The audience goes "Boo"
Even the orchestra and their conductor gets angry at Ernesto.

The bell about to fall on Ernesto.
Crushed by a bell... again.
"You have our blessing, Miguel. (Imelda: No conditions)"
Miguel's skeleton transition almost complete
"Here. This was his guitar, right? He used to play it to you?"
"Remember? Papa?"
"Miguel, you apologize to your Mamá Coco!"
"Elena? What's wrong, mija?"
"Nothing, Mamá. Nothing at all."

"Papá was a musician. When I was a little girl, he and Mamá would sing such beautiful songs."
The next year...
With the truth revealed to the Land of the Living, Ernesto is forever disgraced for his actions.
