Here at the Disney Wiki, we want to make sure users know how to edit and navigate around the site. Below is the general list of rules and regulations for editing around here.
Adding articles
Please do not add an article, then add nothing to it. There have been several cases of articles with no content that have been deleted as of late. This article is one that has content with gibberish spam, while this one features proper content showing the proper way to edit. Also do not add fan fiction or speculation on this wiki.
Uploading
Images

Videos
Videos will not be allowed due to severe copyright standards. Only on the MediaWiki videos will they be allowed as on the main page. However, you can get images off the videos to place on a page that makes sense (E.G., an image of Lilo on her gallery, but NOT an image of Mabel on Vanellope von Schweetz's gallery.) Re-adding the videos will cause them to be deleted and you will be warned. If you add them again, a 1-week block will be issued.
Editing
You can edit if you know what is correct. People who choose to place fake info, replace or add content with gibberish (dhfa78dfaigt7fys8867ae8ghyb 7hvadbm hewnilt6ygjJ*^H5rftgj8vb7h^H*R%&T^, DgAVSDIUFVSDB87frtgwej8f, and aew7igj8uiehwieutj23gwqrf87w8sjeafhs for example) will have their account suspended for a total of 3 days. Users who choose to ignore any warnings and keep doing such actions, despite being blocked before, will be blocked for a longer amount of time until they are blocked permanently. Please try to talk it out with other users in a peaceful manner if you do think that any edit that you have made is correct, but another user(s) keeps on undoing it, instead of going into an "editing war" with them.
Plagiarism
On the other hand, do not steal articles from other wikis to make an article more fuller. They have worked hard, and it is lazy, uncreative, and unacceptable to take their articles and place them on the Disney wiki in the exact same words. We will allow you to copy and paste as long as you immediately paraphrase the entire article. Any articles posted after the date of November 22, 2013 that are confirmed to be plagiarism will be removed. Before you create an article, you must create a sandbox first before making an edit to avoid getting blocked due to plagiarism. We strive for creativity here; after all it was Walt Disney himself who said "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world." Any place that follows in the dreams of Walt Disney is Disneyland. To make this wiki thrive we must use our imaginations and create quality articles.
Cussing
Any sort of impolite behavior like threatening one's safety, foul words, profanity, and derogatory terms will not be tolerated in any form and will result in a 3-month block. If you see such, undo their edit and please report to Alex2424121, JeremyCreek, Hey1234, GrayWolf2, Lola987, ZanyDragon, Disneyfan789, Buzzfan120, or Arabela13 as soon as possible.

Galleries
Because of past abuse and over-uploading, there are limitations to the number of images permitted to galleries. Users are advised to be more selective about their uploads and gallery editing. Try not to add all pictures to every respective gallery, and add less as possible. For example; When editing character galleries, images should only focus more on the character in question, and not images where they are featured in massive groups, seen far away, partially visible, featuring the same pose in front of a different setting, etc.
Any galleries already overflowed should be evaluated. Bear in mind all galleries are different, and should not be compared to one another. If a certain image exists among other galleries it does not mean it should be added to the rest of them. If certain sections exist in other galleries it does not mean it applies to all galleries unless there is a large amount of specific images. Which images and sections to remove or keep will be up to you. Failure to comply with these restrictions will be met with warnings and suspension from the wiki should these violations continue.
While uploading and gallery editing shall remain, it is most important to remember that it is not highly essential to the Disney Wiki. This is not a gallery website. Disney Wiki's top priority is creating, expanding, and sharing pages that are full of information and facts related to Disney. Images and galleries are secondary.
Users must not...
- Be obsessed with pictures.
- Believe uploading and gallery editing are essential to the Wiki.
- Be personally/emotionally attached to images/galleries.
- Add an image just because it is in other galleries.
- Allow being a fan to influence their decisions.
- Get upset over gallery deletions.

Categorization
Please refrain from adding trivial and oddly specific categories to character pages. It can get very cluttered and ridiculous at times. Also, categories named solely as movie titles are for the franchise in general and holding their character category, not just a place to dump the characters and have two categories serving the same purpose.
Furthermore, always be sure to read the notes left on each category to fully understand which article qualifies for said category. For example: The characters of the Mad Hatter and Cheshire Cat from the 1951 film Alice in Wonderland are neither portrayed as heroes or villains, morally. Therefore, they should be listed under the category of "Neutral characters", while the character of the Queen of Hearts is portrayed as a murderous, selfish figure, meaning she should be labeled under the category "Villains".
Speculation
Articles for projects yet-to-be-released are often the subject of speculation, meaning some editors may add unconfirmed details they assume will coincide with said character or movie. This is not allowed, as speculation and rumors can be taken as truth, when in reality, there is a high chance the information is false. For this reason, the Disney wiki only allows confirmed pieces of information for articles centering topics from both already released titles, and upcoming titles. If you have proof that your accusation is 100% accurate, a user must always add a source citation to link readers and other editors to the confirmation. The wiki must be a reliable source for accurate and truthful information for all users.
If something is targeted as a "rumor", please talk about it on the Forum or write a blog post about it, but DO NOT write an article about it! You will be subject to your account being blocked if you write an article about such topics/content!
Spoilers
Giving away plot details to a yet-to-be-released title is a growing concern within fan communities. As such, the Disney Wiki no longer allows spoiler information to be added to articles until after the title has premiered in the U.S. market.
Examples of non-spoiler information includes: Information given through the official synopsis of a film (usually found on the film's official Disney website, or article here on the wiki); information given through brief descriptions on pre-released toys and plushes on various shopping sites such as the sites for the Disney Store, and information directly given in trailers (no speculation whatsoever).
Examples of spoilers include: Plot details from a book adaptation, leaked information from third-party individuals, or any form of merchandise that directly reveals the entire story of the film before the U.S. premiere date hits.
Once the U.S. premiere date arrives, editors must add a Spoiler Warning to articles before proceeding to edit, if it hadn't been added already. This warning must remain on the article for, at least, a full month or 30 days.
Spoilers will also not be allowed within the comment sections until the premiere date arrives. If users who have already spoiled themselves about a plot wishes to discuss spoilers, the private rooms of the chat are always operating and available for use.
Moving names
Do not change names to gibberish names (ex. Lilo to sdjhfdsj). This indicates that you are present within the wiki to purposely ruin articles, and will be blocked for the vandalism, immediately.
Message Walls and chatting
Please don't be rude and cuss or insult other users on the Chat or the Message Wall, or you will be blocked.
On chat, please refrain from using curse words, with the exception of "heck". If used, one will receive an instant kick. If repeated, a ban from the chat.

Other Things You Should Know...
It should be noted that The Walt Disney Company is a very large, multi-billion dollar corporation, and has many franchises that cover many miscellaneous subjects. However, just because Disney may own the rights to a particular character, or own stock in a third party, does not mean that you can go write willy-nilly about such things. A good example is the A&E Television Networks; Disney only owns some of the network's stock. Therefore, you may not go and write articles about shows that air on the network like Duck Dynasty, as it wouldn't be appropriate for this wiki.
Lastly, the Disney wiki is a place for all Disney fans to unite and share their knowledge and love for said property as much as their heart desires. Disrupting the community with arguments, name-calling, and rude behavior toward one another will not be allowed. If you disagree with what another user has to say, approach them politely and speak in intelligent conversation, as opposed to using ravenous attacks and threats. Doing the latter will result in both parties receiving a warning from an admin, and eventual suspension should hostile disputes continue. Be polite, courteous, and strive to be respectful of someone else's opinion. After all, the point is to enjoy yourself and embrace your passion for Disney alongside fans just as passionate.
