Andrew Ralph Adamson, MNZM is a New Zealand film director, producer, screenwriter, and animator, who directed and co-wrote Disney's adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and its sequel Prince Caspian.
Born in New Zealand, Adamson's first in the film industry begin with being a technical advisor for Toys and Angels in the Outfield based on his imaging experience. He served as visual effects supervisor in the 1995 film Batman Forever, A Time to Kill, Batman & Robin, and Mirror Mirror.
Adamson's breakthrough came with directing the Academy Award-winning animated film Shrek as well as contributed to its sequels and spinoff brand Puss in Boots. He also produced the 20th Century Fox adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
He was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to film, in the 2006 Queen's Birthday Honours.
