Amy Lou Adams is an Italian-born American actress, voice actress, singer, and producer, who, for Disney, portrayed Giselle in the 2007 fantasy film Enchanted and the sequel Disenchanted (which she is also credited as a producer), Mary in the 2011 musical comedy film The Muppets, and Anna Fox in the 2021 Fox film The Woman in the Window. She also voiced Sweet Polly Purebred in the 2007 live-action film Underdog. In addition, she was mentioned in an episode of Dog with a Blog. Additionally, she starred in the Searchlight Pictures film Nightbitch.

Born in Aviano, Italy, and raised in Castle Rock, Colorado, Adams is the fourth of seven siblings. She trained to be a ballerina, but at age 18, she found musical theater a better fit. Adams made her feature film debut with a supporting part in the 1999 satire Drop Dead Gorgeous. She soon went on to appear in films, like Catch Me If You Can, Junebug, Doubt, The Fighter, The Master, American Hustle, Big Eyes, Arrival, Vice, Nocturnal Animals, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Julie & Julia, Her, Hillbilly Elegy, and she portrayed Lois Lane in the DC Extended Universe.

Among her television projects, she has appeared in shows, like That '70s Show, Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Smallville, The West Wing, Dr. Vegas, The Office, and the miniseries Sharp Objects, where she also serves as executive producer.

Adams has received several Academy Award nominations. She was named one of 100 most influential people by Time magazine in 2014 and is among the highest-paid actresses in the world. She has won two Golden Globe Awards, and has been nominated for six Academy Awards, and seven BAFTA Awards.

She also performed "Happy Working Song" at the 2008 Academy Awards.
