Tropical Ships are items in Phantom Hourglass.[1][2] The name refers to both the individual Ship Part and the complete Ship.
Location and Uses[]
Ship Part[]
Tropical Ships are Hulls belonging to the completed Tropical Ship of the same name. They bear the appeal of a private oasis.[3] Just like most Ship Parts, Link can collect multiple Tropical Ships. They can be obtained through various methods:
- Purchasing them from Beedle and other Shops.
- Finding them in Treasure Chests.
- Salvaging them using the Salvage Arm.
- Winning them from Mini-Games.
- Trading them in Freedle's boxes.
Attaching three, six, or all eight Tropical Ship parts to the SS Linebeck will increase its stamina to five, six, or seven Hearts, respectively. Tropical Ships can be sold to the Treasure Teller for either 50, 150, or 800 Rupees. Their value is determined randomly when the Save file is created, and is the same for all Ship Parts from the Stone Ship set.
Ship[]
The Tropical Ship is the name given to the SS Linebeck once it has been outfitted with the following Ship Parts:
Ship Part | Description |
---|---|
Tropical Prow |
A prow made with swaying palm tress in mind. No coconuts. |
Shell Anchor |
An anchor made from a shell. Girls go wild for it! |
Tropical Ship |
A themed ship with the appeal of a private tropical oasis. |
Seapony Cannon |
A cannon shaped like a seapony. This pony packs a punch! |
Wood Handrail |
A very basic handrail. Sometimes the basics are best! |
Shell Apartment |
Top creature comforts combined with the smell of ocean air. |
Horn Chimney |
An artistic chimney filled with rustic charm. |
Shell Wheel |
Created from the shell of a huge snail. A mysterious design. |
The Ship Parts can be attached to the SS Linebeck at any time by visiting the Shipyard on Molida Island. For every three parts of the Tropical Ship used, the durability of the SS Linebeck is increased by one Heart. When all eight parts are used together, they increase its durability by three Hearts, up to a total of seven Hearts. Aside from this boost in durability, the Tropical Ship is merely a change in appearance to suit the player's personal tastes.
