In Oracle of Seasons, Goponga Flowers inhabit Spool Swamp and can generate and fire flame-like spherical projectiles from their core when prey or a threat has entered their domain. They can be defeated by using Ember Seeds, the Magic Boomerang or the Master Sword. The can also be eaten by Dimitri.

In the Link's Awakening manga by Ataru Cagiva, Goponga Flowers block Link's path when he first enters Goponga Swamp. After returning with BowWow, the Chain Chomp proceeds to eat the Flowers.
