Pole assignment in decentralized systems: a structural approach. (English) Zbl 0552.93028
The necessary and sufficient conditions for complete pole assignment in decentralized control systems with output feedback are established by a graph theoretic method, related to the early work of S. J. Mason [Proc. Inst. Radio Engrs. 44, 920-926 (1956)]. An example illustrates the approach, which is in effect a multilevel assignment problem, and also the use of an APL algorithm for general application.
