Summary: We give an alternative treatment and extension of some results of Y. Itoh and H. M. Mahmoud [J. Appl. Probab. 40, No. 3, 654–670 (2003; Zbl 1043.05036)] on one-sided interval trees. The proofs are based on renewal theory, including a case with mixed multiplicative and additive renewals.
