New lump-like structures in models with hyperbolic interactions. (English) Zbl 1405.70012

Summary: We investigate lump-like solutions in models described by a single real scalar field with non-polynomial interactions in \((1,1)\) dimensions. We start with a model that supports kink-like solutions and then use the deformation procedure to obtain families of models with hyperbolic interactions. The results show that depending on the values of the parameters, the models can support lump-like and kink-like solutions. We illustrate our findings, constructing new models and examining their solutions, energy densities, stability potentials and zero modes.
