Summary: This paper discusses a classical \(\left( {3 + 1} \right)\)-dimensional KdV equation, which has broad applications in hydrodynamics, plasma physics, and gas dynamics. We obtain rational solutions of this equation by a simple symbolic computation approach. Under some conditions, we find that some of the rational solutions are rogue waves.
