On record values of the power Lomax distribution. (English) Zbl 1377.62054
Summary: In this paper, some properties of the power Lomax (POLO) distribution based on upper record values are provided. The recurrence relations for moments and some distributional properties are presented. The maximum likelihood and Bayesian approaches for estimating the parameters of the power Lomax distribution have been considered under the upper record values. The Bayes estimates for the scale and shape parameters are obtained under the independent prior with respect to the squared error loss function. Further, the maximum likelihood prediction and Wald’s interval prediction for future upper record values are derived.
