Summary: A new scheme to detect image edge using difference of average gray level of pixels located in parallel lines is brought forward. Then according to the gray level of a pixel and neighbor pixels, after an appropriate threshold value is chosen, the right amount of edge points is extracted on the premise of ensuring the integrity of image information as better as possible. In order to achieve extraction, continuity of edge is used to filter the noise points to improve image detection effect.
