Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (ISBN 978-0-521-51814-7/hbk). xxiv, 697 p. (2012).
Machine learning represents one of the most influential methodologies to solve decision making problems nowadays. The data explosion made the data mining domain to which machine learning belongs a very useful tool in intelligently solving diverse problem in bioinformatics, astronomy, economics, physics, biology, environment, etc. The author wrote this book as an introduction to this awesome subject for final-year undergraduate and graduate students without significant experience in mathematics. The concepts and algorithms are accompanied by many worked examples, together with the MATLAB toolbox, enabling the reader to better understand the theory and, on the other hand, to construct novel algorithms. As an overall conclusion, this is a good book for everyone studying machine learning.
