Atomic squeezing in three-level atoms with effective dipole-dipole atomic interaction. (English) Zbl 1237.81097

Summary: The appearance of atomic squeezing in a system of three-level atoms placed in a two-mode cavity, is analyzed. The effects of effective dipole-dipole interactions between atoms are discussed. It is found that these interactions washed-out the squeezing, while the increase in the mean number of photons, of the initial coherent state, moderates this effect significatively.
