Structure-texture image sharpening based on total-variational method. (Chinese. English summary) Zbl 1212.68413
Summary: The discontinuity caused by image sharpening with forward and backward diffusion is considered. A structure-texture image decomposition based on total variation, which simulates the structure and texture with boundary and oscillation functions, is proposed to preserve texture continuity. Experimental results show that the approach is more efficient than the traditional method especially for structure-texture images.
