Stochastic model for training personnel in an organisation. (English) Zbl 1206.90070
Summary: In an organisation proficient people with greater skills and high efficiency play a vital role in its smooth running. After the recruitment process, people are evaluated on their performance through a performance appraisal process. People with less efficiency are given training to acquire and improve their
skills. They are given training at regular training epochs which follow a Poisson process. This paper deals with the optimum time for commencement of training epochs. The mean expected time and variance of time of commencement of training epochs are derived. Numerical illustrations are given and the values of mean and variance of time of commencement of training epochs are tabulated.
