Summary: In this paper, we investigate relations between local vertex Lie algebras and vertex algebras. By the methods used in constructing vertex algebras from local vertex Lie algebras, we define the concept of a homomorphism between local vertex Lie algebras and prove that such homomorphism induces uniquely a vertex algebra homomorphism between vertex algebras constructed from vertex Lie algebras.
