Convergence of strictly asymptotically pseudo-contractions. (English) Zbl 1159.47050
Summary: In the present paper, we first prove a weak convergence theorem for strictly pseudocontractive mappings using a modified Mann algorithm. The convergence is in general not strong, therefore, as a generalization of our modified Mann algorithm, we propose a new (CQ) algorithm for strictly pseudocontractive mappings and obtain a strong convergence theorem for this class of mappings.
