Summary: We show that the Akiyama-Tanigawa algorithm and Chen’s variant for computing Bernoulli numbers can be generalized to Carlitz’s \(q\)-Bernoulli numbers. We also put these algorithms in the larger context of generalized Euler-Seidel matrices.
