Summary: We show two results concerning approximation via “totally discrete” time scales. In the first, we show that any time scale can be approximated by a totally discrete time scale. In the second, we show the bifurcations in the parameter space for a simple two parameter family of dynamic equations – one parameter is the time scale itself, derived from Euler’s method for solving differential equations. These results speak to the nature of numerical approximations.
