Non-amenability and spontaneous symmetry breaking – the hyperbolic spin-chain. (English) Zbl 1088.82007
Spontaneous symmetry breaking is typically studied in the case where the symmetry group is amenable. The authors employ the hyperbolic spin chain to study this phenomenon for non-amenable groups, which in the case considered is SO(1,2).
