Expansion dynamics of volatile-supersaturated liquids and bulk viscosity of bubbly magmas. (English) Zbl 1061.76082
The bulk viscosity of compressible bubble suspension is examined mathematically, and an expression for the bulk viscosity is derived in terms of two-phase parameters (bubble radius, gas pressure and the properties of liquid phase). The phenomenon of amplification of seismic and expansion waves is examined.
