Modeling orientation fields of fingerprints with rational complex functions. (English) Zbl 1058.68634

Summary: A novel model is proposed for the orientation field of fingerprints, which can be expressed as the argument of a rational complex function. It is suitable for all types of fingerprints. Experimental results show that it performs much better than the previous works.
