Summary: We study the first Hochschild cohomology group \(H^1(\Lambda)\) of certain finite-dimensional algebras and how it relates to presentations of \(\Lambda\). In particular, we consider this relationship for monomial, directed, and a generalization of Schurian algebras. The relationship between presentations and the fundamental group \(\pi_1(\Lambda)\) is also studied.
