On the approximation order and numerical stability of local Lagrange interpolation by polyharmonic splines. (English) Zbl 1040.41002

In this text, approximation order estimates for radial basis function interpolation are addressed. For a class of radial basis functions called polyharmonic splines, the approximation order is provided. Also, invariance properties of condition numbers of the Lagrange interpolation matrices are considered.
