Integrable boundaries and universal TBA functional equations. (English) Zbl 1028.82005

Kashiwara, Masaki (ed.) et al., MathPhys odyssey 2001. Integrable models and beyond. In honor of Barry M. McCoy, dedicated to his 60th birthday. Boston: Birkhäuser. Prog. Math. Phys. 23, 391-413 (2002).
The authors derive general fusion and TBA functional equations for the critical \(A-D-A\) lattice models. Although the fusion hierarchy of functional equations is not universal, the authors show that the \(Y\)-system or TBA functional equations for the \(A-D-A\) models are universal in the sense that they depend on the \(A-D-A\) graph only. Their Coxeter member, and more importantly, they are independent of the choice of integrable boundary conditions.
