Recent geometric developments in the theory of Anosov diffeomorphisms. (English) Zbl 1024.37023
Summary: It is an old conjecture that Anosov diffeomorphisms are topologically conjugate to infranilmanifold automorphisms. This article attempts to survey recent work in this direction which involve the geometric artifact of connections.
