Admission policies for a two class loss system. (English) Zbl 0995.60086

A dynamic admission control in a Markovian loss queueing system with two groups of customers with different service rates and revenues are studied. The authors develop Markov decision process and they prove that customers of the so-called preferred class are always admitted to the system. In addition, an optimal policy of threshold type is established, and the thresholds are monotone under some conditions.
